Im talking about comments like this....like chill out whats with the aggression how about trying to see his point first....

Well its clear as the light if the sun that RAPE is wrong yes but are we really reading the same manhua? cause im sure as hell that his character have yet to reach that point in the story hes just barely opening up again after confronting his feelings and confessing it that was like a few chapters ago

so logically speaking with the state of his character in that situation WE ARE CORRECT THAT HIS REACTION IS NORMAL.....but in all matter of cases WRONG... and that is where you guys confused about cus the story did not go the way you want when you dont realize that it will be more odd if he did not react that way cus IT WILL BE WAY OUT OF HIS CHARACTER (probably made the story not sensible) and you guys confuse it about us saying it is normal and assume that we are tolerant of RAPE well that is just WRONG cause nobody here is tolerant of RAPE we are just taking the story FOR WHAT IT IS.

Dude, I've literally seen people in the comments section justifying it because it's just a mahnwa. The small amount of character growth he has a couple chapters back just disappeared because he thought the dude ran away without asking questions.

i’m not making comments out of rage. i just want people to have this discussion to understand that we shouldn’t idealise and justify a characters behaviour as it does not translate well in real life. rape is a serious topic and it should be addressed, but clearly you aren’t ready for that conversation. seungho didn’t have any character development (which i think he and we as readers deserve)

how about rude and disrespectful will those words be much accurate now? my point still stands......those guys are not defending rape they are just explaining that his actions are typical of his psyche and normal character wise AND NOT MORALLY RIGHT....and to be direct since I think most of you have yet to realise or may have forgotten this is a story about an ABUSIVE person and his victim.....don’t you find it absurd that you got this far AND protesting it’s normalisation like dude that was the intended story from the get go dont portray it as if it was not intended to be like that.....This comic is not that kind of typical yaoi that uses rape as a decorative icing to the story...RAPE is one of the essence of this story because its all about abuse so basically you guys complaining about it can be even classified as unwarranted, absurd and nonsense.....STILL thats your opinion but that doesn’t mean all opinions are correct you can accept it all you want but FACT is you are wrong...

conclusion: nobody is idealising rape in this yaoi comic.
rape is just one of the main elements of this story(don’t pretend that you don’t have an idea its already season 2).
you are like expecting oranges to sprout from an apple tree....hence your disappointment...

Okay. Wow. I just left for a couple of days and this is what I got. Let me speak. Did your hands gets shaky and sweaty nonstop while reading this? Or you feel restless after reading this? I'm not justifying any rapes/assaults/harassments here nor thinking it is normal because I, myseft, experienced it too. I sometimes see my own father in seungho (while reading) but because I know this is just manhua I manage to read it.

AS A READER, I JUST WANT TO FOLLOW WHERE THE STORY WILL BRING ME. Y'all are taking my comment as if I see rape as a normal thing. To me, even if he was mad, the best response is not to go raping someone. Nakyum’s been assaulted by the servant, tossed into an orgy, drugged, kidnapped, tortured and now raped. And yet he isn’t raping anyone or hurting anyone. Whatever Seungho went through I am sure is terrible but Nakyum is being beat down by everyone and it’s kind of ridiculous at this point how many people torture him.

THE NUMBER OF CHAPTERS IS IRRELEVANT to The FLOW and PACING of the story ever heard of slow paced stories? There are literally many basic ass shounen manga that runs close to a thousand chapters...so that defines how irrelevant number of chapters of the story it depends on the story AND TO REPEAT IT AGAIN IN CAPS HE JUST FREAKIN REALISED HIS FEELINGS AND ACCEPTED IT BY MEANS OF CONFESSING LIKE A FEW CHAPTERS AGO LITERALLY CHAPTER 58 HOW EFIN FAR IS THAT TO 67 DID HIS EUREKA MOMENT STARTED AT CHAPTER 1? WHAT KIND OF STORY WOULD THAT BE......SEE HOW FLAWED THAT LOGIC IS NOW?

PLAIN TRUTH: Your arguments are all INVALID you are wrong take the story for what it is about not what you want it to be about nothing in this comic says "rape is right this is the right thing to do" its a story about a violent person with mental disabilities and trauma....and his poor victim.....even if you apply your logic in real life IT WILL STILL SOUND ABSURD....imagine asking a person with PSTD or BIPOLAR syndrome....hey you already have company of FRIENDS and FAMILY +medication for a 3 months you should be OK BY NOW. If you find that ridiculous you got the point if not then somethings definitely wrong with the way you think...you probably need help yourself....(if you did not notice in the story its still snowing thats already an indicator that clearly 3/4 of the 67 chapters is not enough to put more months or years in their timeline in order to make sense or realistic the character development you are demanding....)

yeah, but those shounen AI already got the confessions and that type of stuff done and over with and the rest of it is just them trying to figure out how to deal with their friends, society, or their life in general. This dude recognized his feelings for not even a God damn moment, thought it was some strange magic thing (I know thats not what it's called but im comparing it to magic) and brushed it off like it was nothing and then proceeded to be the dick he already was. By now, any character would realize (with ptsd or not) that whats going on isn't okay and that maybe they do have feelings for the person. Yelling wont make your argument clear, if you dont like our comments, then stop responding cause now it just seems as if your starting to attack people (I know you're not, but you're coming off like that) which you said we were doing.

aya, you're literally fighting a losing battle. It's not funny, and its just starting to get annoying because you can't seem to get our comments through your head. Maybe step back for a bit, look around, and then make your decision. I've reread this mahnwa way too many times and each time I do, I notice someone else thats toxic.

i think we all need to step back and realize that, above all, this is a yaoi manhwa. it’s a genre that, whether you recognize it or not, includes/glosses over/romanticizes rape and abusive themes. yet here we all are, reading it and continuing to read it even after realizing how the characters are written.

i think what it all comes down to is some people have become very desensitized to the abusive and rape themes consistent in yaoi, and they forgive the aggressors because they know eventually (most of the time) the authors write it so that they’re forgiven and get “redemption” or some sort of happy ending with the main character. so a lot of people just gloss over the abuse and can’t wait to get to the “happy” part where the couple is together. they see what the character could be, not what the character is at the moment.

in the end, yaoi, this story included, has a lot of problematic themes at its core because of how the genre has developed. there are plenty that show healthy relationships and i feel like more are coming out that way, but the majority is still full of plots like this one. yet here we are, reading it anyway. we can all enjoy content in manga and manhwa while still being critical of the characters, the plot, and the development of the story. as long as you are aware of the issues within the content you consume, and are able to criticize it accordingly. of course, not everyone can do that and some do excuse these things regardless, but we can’t fight with everyone who doesn’t see things the way we do.

all in all i think this comment thread has gone on long enough. agree to disagree somewhere. regardless of how you feel about these characters, we’re all still reading, still waiting for updates.
