I think it means that sometimes someone always there for you so they most have gotten close to each other and when they care about other partner too much it will affect their relationship as you can see that Adel doesn't want Alice to be with kokoru at all so that's why it is affected their relationship . That's what I think , don't know if it wrong or true hehe
it basically means that if you are around somebody for to great an amount of time your relationship can turn toxic that is why even married couples needs space at times from each other
