No, it's just a story without any romance at all. Just a bit of bromance here and there but no love. Even in the novel, there's no romance at all. Cale just have his own harem of people caring and loving him, that's all. He's well protected and those around him acts super protective, possessive and would always worry about him even if he were to sneeze too hard by accident.
