You can see the difference in the depth of feelings Carcel and Emiliano have for Ines in these chapters. There is no doubt that Emiliano loved Ines and Ines herself had affection for both Emiliano & Luca enough to suffer ptsd in relation to it.
But Carcel here is all ready to fight God for Ines, he never stopped loving Ines in all his lifetimes irrespective of his memories, irrespective of his reputation or situation, irrespective of what even Ines thought of him or felt for him - Ines existence was enough for him.
Emiliano is the love one might experience once or maybe twice in life and be considered fortunate but Carcel is the love of very existence, the sort of love which can overcome multiple lives of misery and make you feel glad to be alive, give hope to a dead heart - Ines essentially started this life to die a natural death and to no longer remember her misery, pain & guilt and it was Carcel who made her want to live again, to hope for the future again, to love again and to regret not loving or not knowing Carcel in her past lives. When I read their monologue about each other, all I see is their regret of not knowing who the other half of their soul was sooner.

I just wanna know if ML ever remembers his past life.

Spoiler...
1) Nahan (the "vengance" guy), who eventually puts ML under the same hypnosis he already showed (the worst nightmare a person can imagine). Yuder saw the night he killed ML, and ML sees the same night but doesn't understand what's going on obviously, thus proving that however Yuder came back to the past, ML was also connected.
2) Later on ML starts to see fragments of his past through dreams, as it is explained how ML and Yuder had imprinted in their first life via alpha-omega (kinda destined pair?), a bond that was revitalized by being together in this life. He doesn't get his full memories, but he does remember why he did what he did in his past life, specially the cruelty he showed towards Yuder in many desicions.
Honestly while I get what MC is trying with Jace, I am not fond of the fact that another innocent child is bring used as a prop for this learning experience. I wish there was a better way to make Jace realise that actions have consequences.
The thing is that everything is real. It wasn't staged she only allowed it to happen. The boy has to known that his action can have horrible consequences. Its literally the only way it can be done in this circumstance. He must be broken to be fixed.
I agree hes better off fixing this now than never later
