I think it's just the art style. To me ML does look younger but the eyes and eyebrows are his identifying trait so they're exaggerated. MC keeps mentioning his stare as well.

I did see some of the spoilers and based in that it seems like they were married for a couple of years and still he didn't find the time to actually communicate to her about what was going on ??? Yeah I get that he was under surveillance but it was OK for him to have sex under surveillance but not speak about the grave danger him and his wife were under in all those Years?? I honestly find his excuse rather pathetic. I would be disgusted if my husband knew we were under surveillance and still had sex with me without even informing me.
