we get a new character introduced! SPOILERS BELOW as usual




Starts out with Sooyoung visiting his uncle's grave — he talks about how he's been doing well and eating well and that there's someone he's been seeing a lot nowadays (you know who XD). He says that that person is an unpredictable bully with a dirty personality but he he laughs well in front of Sooyoung. As Sooyoung leaves the site he notices the two bodyguards (arguing about letting Sooyoung in by himself) and gets alert, but it doesn't seem to be anything threatening.

In the car Sooyoung asks the driver to take him to Taeseung's company instead of back to TS's home. He thinks about how this will be the first time that he visits TS like this, and wonders if TS will like the initiative. When SY arrives at the building he feels nervous even though it's not his first time inside the place. He starts having doubts about being there and wonders if he should just go home since he'll see TS there anyway. Then he thinks about TS's potential reaction to seeing him here ("are you here because you miss me?") and blushes.

Cut to Taeseung coming out of the elevator with Sangchul chatting about business with a president Hwang and then SC mentioning that they're here already. Off to the side SY ends up hiding. He thinks to himself that he just needs to say one word, and as he's leaving his hiding spot to call out to TS he notices a woman approaching TS. The woman (her name is Hwang Ya Won) says it's been awhile and that it was rude of TS to suddenly hang up on her yesterday after saying what he had to say. They're a bit snarky with each other but the rest of their conversation is business-related and a bit of personal small talk -- she teases him about how he's grown into a charismatic gangster who meets all kinds of politicians. Taeseung notices that SY hasn't been responding to his texts and calls the driver asking where SY is. The driver says he that dropped off SY at TS's building 20 minutes ago. While this is happening Yawon mentions to TS that she knows he's seeing someone and wants to know who and TS tells her its none of her business. Then the driver tells TS he can't find SY and TS curses.

Back in the car SY thinks back to seeing TS interacting with YW and feels annoyed/jealous about seeing TS smiling at her.

I'm so interested to see more of Yawon's involvement with TS (business and personal) and how it affects SY's feelings (will we get a possessive SY???). Kind of disappointed that the meeting with SY's uncle was short though (I want more flashbacks!!) but hopefully that'll get weaved in at some point when it becomes clear how TS is involved with SY's uncle's death. Until next week~

This manga is a lot to take in but I gotta say, the decensor work is absolutely *chef's kiss* Major kudos to the redrawer from the scanlation group for their contributions!!

Starts with a flashback of Sooyoung coming home to see his uncle there stealing SY's bank account info/signature stamp -- uncle says door was open and that SY's father sent him even though SY knows he previously locked it. Uncle tries to be friendly/casual as he leaves and tells SY that he'll eventually pay him back. SY thinks about how back then that he believed his uncle because he was scared to be left behind, but stopped believing it as he grew up.

Now back to the present Sooyoung wakes up and thinks about how he's been waking up alone more often and that he regrets not seeing Taeseung in the mornings nowadays. He feels like a puppy who wakes up and waits all day for its owner to come home, and then gets 'praised' at night for waiting all day. During the sexytimes flashback SY cums in TS's mouth and TS says 'it's yours' and asks SY where else he wants to be touched so he can cum more. SY is of course flustered and tell him he's crazy.

After that quick flashback SY texts TS 'hamburger' and TS texts back asking if he's awake and to call him if so. SY calls TS and they have a surprisingly normal conversation about SY sleeping in a lot and what they're going to eat. Throughout their phone convo SY thinks about how routine it feels to expect calls and text from TS, that they live together and that he just spends his day waiting for TS to come back. Then he comes to the realization that all of this feels like they're ~dating~ and he freaks out and thinks that he's crazy (XD). Their call ends with SY telling TS that he's going to visit his uncle's gravesite today for the anniversary of his death. TS says okay and tells SY to take care. After they hang up TS tells Sangchul that he needs to make a call.

Once SY leaves the building he notices a car already waiting for him. He thinks it's from TS and gets in. We cut back to the chauffer on a call with TS and TS tells him to not lose sight of SY or else he'll kill him. The more literal translation is something like 'you need to keep SY on a tight leash while you're taking him on this walk -- if you let go of it I'll kill you'.

So it looks like the author continues to use the dog/owner/leash euphemisms with TS/SY's relationship, which is obviously not healthy but it seems like that's how TS thinks of SY and vice versa since they both don't want want to acknowledge that their relationship can be anything more than that. And for TS it could be that he wants to recover all of his memories of SY and their past to fully grasp who SY is to him, so for now he can only think of SY as someone he wants to keep close to him (like a dog on a tight leash).

Also the uncle seems to be a scumbag and I get the feeling we'll be getting more flashbacks with him and SY when SY visits his grave.

I didn't read the ch thoroughly yet but here's what's going on based on some rough trans:

Flashback to TS talking to Sangchul about the Sooyoung sitch. SC says SY probably would've died if he and Minhyuk didn't arrive earlier. TS says he overestimated Kang Il's discipline and didn't expect him to go that far with harming SY (so it was totally intentional that he showed up a bit later since he figured Kang Il was only going to hold him hostage or something).

Next we have TS giving SY a blowjob (almost as if he's trying to apologize lol). While this happens SY lifts up TS's face and tells him that he wants to touch him too. Then TS gets a lil aggressive with SY's nipples but doesn't put it in -- instead he grinds together with SY and towards the end SY begs him to do it like he usually does and put it in. TS tells him he won't put it in until SY is better and they come together.

Next we get a flashback to some political stuff that I'm not going to cover too in-depth -- basically Minhyuk is banging the mayor's (dude in the car) wife and a prosecutor guy who works with the mayor for purely political reasons. Both of them are involve in dealings with Taesung and I'm assuming there's some incentive for having those two specific people on Minhyuk's (and by extension Taeseung) radar. In the last panel Minhyuk says he misses Sooyoung.

I wish the uploader would wait for AT LEAST a few hours if not a day to upload the new chapter so the author can make some money on lezhin...

The TS/SY relationship was never meant to be your typical domestic lovey-dovey yaoi. As someone mentioned in another comment Taeseung, a mafia leader, is inherently not a Good Guy and all of his interactions with Sooyoung will not always be something we can objectively say 'yes this is wholesome'. HOWEVER, compared to Minhyuk who SY only sees as a dongsaeng/younger brother and who took advantage of SY when he was barely conscious I will pick TS over him any day, with the ultimate option of SY remaining single and happy (but this isn't the story for that now is it). Now as slow as the development is with TS/SY at least these recent chapters have SY in the process of sorting out his thoughts and feelings for TS, and possibly awakening to a masochistic side of himself stemming from the abuse/dependency he's experience from Jisung. Their relationship is neither healthy nor wholesome at the moment, but I don't think it's meant to be (yet) considering we're still only 30 chapters into a story with very slow pacing.

Although if you want wholesome TS/SY there's plenty of it on the author's twitter. Blackapricot draws them a lot so you can enjoy their lovey-dovey relationship there instead of the webtoon itself. (●'◡'●)ﾉ

Minhyuk who??? I only know consent king Park Taeseung ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I've read this chapter and the successive ones so many damn times but it never gets old. The soft touches, hand-holding, and verbal consent just GETS ME GOING but then we get (spoilers below)



the upcoming chapters that have Taeseung flip 180 into a teasing dirty talk daddy and have Sooyoung begging for him is just.......... ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

ch 38 summary (end of season 1) - - such a bittersweet chapter!! spoilers below





Most of this chapter is visually self-explanatory, but in the Kang Il/Sooyoung convo KI commenting about SY's stubborn resilience and then threatens to rape SY to get a taste of what TS sees in him before he stabs SY in the arm. Then when Minhyuk comes to the rescue (a la stabbing KI in the stomach and asking him why he's so prone to gossip) he tells SY that he needs to pull the knife out and that he'll be alright. After pulling the knife out of SY Minhyuk asks Sangchul where Taesung is and SC responds that he should know that TS is keeping a low profile, but he'll probably be here soon.

AND THEN we cut to the henchman who sold out SY running for his life thinking that he royally fucked up and needs to get out Korea. Cue our Boss Daddy strutting in dragging the dead henchmen in his hand and asking SC why he didn't follow his orders to watch and wait. Then when he sees Sooyoung he goes immediately over him, takes him from MH, and bridal carries him saying "Sooyoung, let's go. I'm here to pick you up. It's going to be alright." (WOW my heart)

Then we get to SY's final thoughts as he's being carried away which are [In my fading consciousness, I could feel my body clinging to this burning heat. A rope I could hold fell into my hands — and with it a feeling of relief washed over me, and I was able to completely close my eyes.] as he drifts into unconsciousness.

And end season 1! Kudos to the author who was able to put out such amazing work despite running into some health issues (which I hope she takes all the time she needs to recover before season 2). I'm SO happy that MH, SC, and TS arrived on time to save SY, but poor SY -- first his leg and now his arm....I JUST WANT HIM TO BE SAFE!!! ;_; Minhyuk's somber expressions while saving SY were beautifully drawn, and it makes me wonder if he's still gunning for SY knowing full well that SY and TS clearly have feelings for each other. Taesung coming in like the boss that he is was such a sight, and I audibly squealed when he went straight to SY to whisk him away from MH.

I'm hoping in S2 we get some hurt/comfort moments with TS/SY while SY is recovering and more revelations on their high school backstory. This is such an incredible series and I'm sad about the Korean hiatus, but at least there's still the English chapters to catch-up to that will hopefully provide better translations than I did XD
