The quality is so much lower than the novel, like the novel is a whole other lvl. If you compare them it's really lacking. If I hadn't read the novel I wouldn't have gone thru with reading this. But bcs the novel is so extraordinary, I've developed an obsession and a loyalty to all the mediums based on it.

you must join the suibiansubs discord chat - they have all the seasons (the entire book) plus all the extras! there is literally not a scene in the book that isn't included in the audio drama haha. this is the link to their account with information: https://suibiansubs.tumblr.com/troubleshooting
ALSO!!! last month, the japanese version of the audio drama started. i think it's quite good as well :) and who doesn't like another adaption! a lot of the voice actors are quite famous and talented, so it's fun. here is a link to the subbing team currently releasing these episodes: https://twitter.com/3pasubs?lang=en

The novel is the most emotionally satisfying. The drama and anime are both good, with the acting in the drama being really great SPOILER AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
While I'm at it, I want to give everyone some advice. W/e you do, DON'T take all nighters 4 consecutive days while binging the drama, novel and anime one after another. YOU WILL BREAK DOWN CRYING, YOU WILL FORGO EATING AND YOU DEFFINITLY WILL RUIN YOUR HEART AND MIND.
DRAMA SPOILER
NOVEL SPOILER
tho the ending is heart breaking and not really faithful to Lan Zhan's need for closeness to Wei Ying but even so it is quite lovely. I watched it bfr I read the novel knowing they will go with the no romo route so I can't say how ppl who first read the novel would feel. But I do recc first watching it than reading, so you can look foreword to the happy ending of the novel instead of being heart broken while watching the drama drama. Either way, I cried in both instances.
ANIMESPOILER
The anime isn't finished yet but the art style is good and the plot flows quite nicely, tho it doesn't follow the novel, it does have a lot more romo subtext than the drama so it's great in that area.

Are buns the next thing to mask the pretty? Lol, glasses, bangs, fucking fake freckles -which btw all look good idk why they make it out to be 'ugly'- and even actual masks were used in other manga I read, but to think the next lvl of that would be twin buns, really, you never know what the next trope to conceal beauty in fiction is.

Lol she never said it was meant to mask the pretty but rather to divert attention from her face - “I’d rather be thought of as weird” was the rationale behind it. The twin buns are associated with certain subcultures in Japan that are, apparently, enough deterrent that even a vague association is enough to make her less attractive. What I’d really guess is going on is that mameko with her down looks very much like the “ideal” traditional Japanese beauty with long straight black hair and pale skin and all that. Once she’s got her hair up, and especially with her personality, it’s enough to keep most guys away, as planned

Why make it half a year? Like, it'd make more sense to up the number so the growth isn't weird and too quick. Like, I know some guys who went through a growth sprout in little time, and all of them had some issues cause the body grew too much too quick. Not to mention, he's only 13? Like, ridiculous.
Are you seriously gonna make him like a, a baby? An actual baby? Like, you legit? He gonna be thinking of a baby..... like, a baby, BABY. Like, why you do thisssss?
And so she gained another royal yandere slave... from a different royal family this time...
