That scene, pg 21 ch 2, remains, by far, the scariest thing, I have ever seen -and trust me, I've seen plenty-. Guesses it's a weird personal thing though. I could handle abuse, but that, yeah, no way no how. With everything I went trough, I always had my hair unsullied, it falls to my thighs, thick and healthy and children sometimes ask me if I'm a fairy because of it, so that scene gave me some major nightmare material.
