Who cares if characters' behavior are exasperating and/or unbelievable (Yuno not just hanging up or slamming door on his cousin, everybody agreeing those guys in the car are after Yuno and not Vasily (huh?)...and then just letting Yuno walk if that's true)?! I wanna know what comes next each week! ARGHGGHH!!

    laofujo October 15, 2020 5:05 pm

I mean, come on, if the guy you're avoiding walks past your Starbucks, you don't jump up and drag the person you hate out the door, you look the other way and walk to the bathroom...but I guess this is the definition of created, fun drama.

I was really hoping for a fuller parallel universe...one in which we find out the reason Chiwoo and Jihyun are together is because he stopped himself from attacking Chiwoo and turned his life around, maybe with Chiwoo's help. But it was just sex (don't get me wrong, I enjoyed that, but felt the sex would've meant more if there was some story behind it). Missed opportunity, IMHO.

It doesn't matter... Like the mangaka said themselves, Jihyun shouldn't be forgiven. You are trying to emphasize with a person who is abusive. It's not right, and the parallel universe was only made for 'fanservice'. Since the mangaka disagrees with his actions that will NEVER happen! Sorry to disappoint... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

The window is just setup for the next scene. The foreground has the sofa and YJ’s blue pants, so the window is part of the scene where he’s looking at the video of Hyun, not the smooch fest. Heck, I’m more pissed that the video of Hyun freaking out has him in his uniform when he wasn’t (in jammies for ramen). Unless that scene was from when YJ got hit...but then the timing is weird. Look, artists and writers make continuity mistakes (Starbucks in Game of Thrones anyone?), don’t read too much into it. I blame the editors more really....

    TheTenderVigilante August 21, 2020 2:35 am

I believe you’re right. Like you said, If you look to the side of the panel you see the blue of YJ pants that he’s wearing while looking at the phone. Also, being the genre and the pattern this story has taken so far ,I don’t believe they wld have drama as big as being caught on video. Everything has been very PG.

    TheTenderVigilante August 21, 2020 2:39 am

Also, the video is from when YJ was hit. Chapter 37.2. I love these guys , I don’t want them to have such a big drama unfold for them ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

The characters are using flip phones so you know this is a classic that stands the test of time. Even though it's 10 years old, it feels fresh to me. It made me laugh, and humor is the hardest thing to keep fresh. Yes, there are a few things that have become tropes (the childhood encounter, etc), but what I love most about this is how flawed and yet still charismatic the characters are. Both have childhood traumas, both deal with it with denial. One cheats and tries not to get too emotionally involved. One just flat out denies he was abused as a kid. And yet they connect.

Hey, I had a college roommate who told me he was kicked out of his family and house for being gay at age 15 and ended up staying with a 40 year old lover...and still considers that person a savior even now (3 decades later). He's taken people down for sexual harassment later in life so he says he knows what's consensual and what's not. Maybe it'll kick in that what happened was bad...or maybe it won't. I dunno. I think what happened is totally wrong but I'm not going to prefer that my friend be traumatized and shooting heroin to deal rather than content and employed in denial. Also, age 24 is probably way too soon for Mookyul to realize how effed up his situation was/is. I guess because I'm WAY older and have seen just how flawed and messy relationships are, how flawed and messy people are, this story doesn't seem ugly, it just seems like darker normal.

Being an incredibly sexy mob boss at 24, though, is not believable, and the eternal horniness is also not believable, but that's the part I consider the enjoyable fantasy of manhwa. As for the dubcon, well, that's another part where reality and fantasy part. Do not do this at home, kiddos, but heck, the I-want-you-so-much-I-can't-stop-myself-and-you're-okay-with-it-at-the-end trope has been around in romance novels since time immemorial. Maybe we can agree it's a fantasy that doesn't actually happen (nor should) in real life, like fire-breathing dragons, but it must still scratch some subconscious itch due to its longevity.

This comment was so beautiful and eloquent, thank you. I agree with what you're saying especially on the part of this story being "darker normal". I enjoyed this story too. (=・ω・=)

Rereading Ep 13 and 20 (each a level up for YJ and Hyun's physical relationship), I gotta say, Hyun's pretty smooth and confident for someone who claims he hasn't ever been in a relationship. Every opening YJ gives, he goes in for the kill without hesitation. What, has he been working on a strategy this whole time? Maybe practicing with a few flings or so? Well, he is a baseball player, good at getting to base, right?

    kavi August 12, 2020 1:38 pm

That's really true like he is smooth as fuck and Yj can't resist him well can't blame him hyun is just too cute and adorable

laofujo August 11, 2020 7:59 am

I'm not quite sure I would call it a happy ending, but, you know, it's probably better for society if they end up with each other, rather than effing up someone normal. There are hints that Dohyun may have been careless/emotionally abusive to a string of partners (girlfriend in HS, "I've said this millions of times" on how to kiss). The fact I read this story to the end means there's something about the effedupness of this story that attracts me, so heck yeah, if the ending is effed up too, that's the cherry on top.

So I notice Yahwi has an Apple phone and Jooin and his pals have Samsung. Is this a class thing? I would think all Koreans would patriotically have Samsungs (top end models are not cheap either). Does having Apple mean you're snooty or just rich or what?

    5xsha August 4, 2020 11:40 pm

Yeesss, I'm not the only one that has noticed this! Even in the k-dramas I have watched, they all have android cell phones like they have anything but apple phones

    xlee August 5, 2020 4:14 am

haha so usually the samsung phones you see in kdramas are like promotions, usually the latest phome model out. however as a former resident of korea, however, its just common for people to use samsung over iphones. its like a 60-40 split between samsung and iphones users and korea. some rich people will get an iphone tho is they like the western lifestyle.

Wow, 40% is still higher than I expected. It's 55/45 Android/iPhone in the US. Ok, so if I go to Korea I won't be a douche for using a iPhone then.
