What is the problem lately with korean BLs with amazing art but shitty plot? Just r*pe after r*pe and ab*se. I am just tired. There are too many titles like this going around and the problem is that they are amongst the most read BL titles on both korean and english platforms. Angst is okay, drama too, but all of this violence for what?? Shock value? This is just lazy writing imho.
It is such a pity in this case, because the plot here could have been so much more, and with less r*pe and violence all around.

You know, I am very tired of this tropes where the top has to be toxic and then falls in love (probably soon, sonce they just introduced a character to play the classic role of the "rival") and of course the bottom, even after being treated like sh*t, still loves him/falls in love with him.
Plus OF COURSE we are gonna forget about consent, because from the beginning there was NONE given, at any moment (the bottom is basically pressures with money and menaces of physical violence to agree to have sex with the top).
And let's not forget that apparently, every loan sharks in Korea are at least bisexual, since they want to r*pe the protagonist as soon as they think he likes men.

Here is another one one to add to the r*apist tops list: this top r*pes the bottom and tells him "it's your fault I'm doing this" just because he is stupidly f*cking jealous of that other guide (I don't care if that other guide is a villain or not). And the bottom actually THINKING that this is plain violence. But still we have the "but my body wants it" trope, just to justify the umpteenth time korean BLs romanticize r*pe.
