Huh. Given what I know about the Swan Lake ballet, I thought for sure Odette would mistake the twin for his love, but the twin would ignore him/choose someone else, which would convince Odette that he'd be stuck as a swan forever and maybe he'd commit suicide or something. Instead, the story wrapped up real fast and the first prince got left behind. At least the fact that the prince tried to kill himself was more in line with the original story, which tends to end as a tragedy more often than as a happy ending.

Personally, I do think Woohyun loved her, specifically because love doesn't actually have to be a good thing. Psychologically speaking, you learn how to define and express affection in your early years from your parents or whoever is raising you. Unfortunately, if you parents are abusive, you tend to learn that being abusive means loving someone, which is why people with abusive parents often become abusers themselves. We actually already saw this with Ha Yan and how she thought getting hit meant she was loved, and I'm willing to be money that Woohyun has internalized breaking and controlling something as loving it from his parents, even if he's intelligent enough to consciously know better.

The Duke's complete lack of common sense is astounding. You can tell because everyone is so caught up in how dumb he is, we've completed forgotten that the sister might have been transmigrated, and if that's the case, there is currently no way to get her back.

I don't know why it took me 2 years to realize this, but isn't there going to come a point where Akari's children are older than she is? After all, she's only 16 years old, and the glimpses we've had of her future kids definitely feels like it shows An and Deux as adults. What a bizarre experience that's going to be.

Honestly, sometimes it feels easier to see a character like Rin's mom, because it's easier to resent them. She's stubborn and controlling and the way she communicates with Rin feels unnecessarily harsh. On the other hand, it's tough to know how to feel about people like Jun's mom, because you can tell that they really do care about their kids - they just don't or can't understand them. And that makes it harder to know how to treat them, because their rejections are still just as hurtful, but you know the motivation behind their actions is genuine (but misguided) concern.

but rin’s mom also cares about her she just doesn’t show it like jun’s mom

Wow, he really just came right out and said it. I'm impressed!! I've read tons of reincarnation/transmigration stories at this point, and this is the only one I've read out of a hundred or so other stories where a character straight up admitted they were reincarnated. I like it! I've always wanted to see it done before. Now to see how she reacts.

To you I recommend "Fiancée’s Observation Log of the Self-proclaimed Villainess"

A classic where girl straight out says she's a reincarnator during the first meeting.

Read it. Loved it. I especially appreciated that it was told from the Prince's perspective, which is also something I don't think I've seen in other reincarnation stories. Thanks for the recommendation!

Then I recommend "I won't be breaking up this engagement. You know that, right?", it's pretty new but it's also told from the prince's POV and the girl straight up admits to being a reincarnator immediately

Honestly, one of the reasons I find this manga so intriguing is because Kanae isn't entirely a bad person despite the horrific things she's done and will do. Like, the girls she hangs out with are bad. They're mean and cruel because they thinks it's fun or have nothing better to do. On the other hand, Kanae's evil actions are driven less by malice and more by the fact that she's 100% batshit insane so she ends up thinking her actions are just and good. I don't know. It's just interesting reading about someone doing absolutely awful things while also knowing that person could NOT be doing the awful things if another person took a little bit of time out of their day to check them into a mental hospital and get them some real fucking help. Because you can tell Kanae desperately wants someone to care for her, and I feel like her actions could be so much less terrible if that someone was a responsible and trained mental health professional and not some rando high school who doesn't realize the absolute hell he's gotten himself involved with.

Honestly, I was thinking about this the other day, but maybe Heun really was a mass murderer or something in a past past life. Otherwise, I really don't know what someone could do to deserve being raped by their brother and abused by the most powerful person in the land in two different lifetimes. Even if Karma is trying to give the emperor a second chance to change his ways, that's a whole lot of unnecessary bullshit for Heun to endure in the meantime.

Wow, the feelings I got from this manga took an immediate nosedive from sweet and heartwarming into extremely uncomfortable. I absolutely thought the boyfriend died a while ago and the kid had grown up while in a coma in the years since his accident. I mean, why would a kindergartner even want to have sex? Their minds and bodies haven't developed to have that desire yet. What in the world was going through the mangaka's head when they wrote this?

    cuckooro February 25, 2021 5:20 am

it was literally the worst path the story could take.....im still baffled but more disappointed cuz i really loved everything else

    donghyuk February 25, 2021 6:05 am

Exactly what I was thinking. There’s no way a 5 year old thinks like that :/

Just a guy February 22, 2021 11:21 pm

I really like the princess - it's nice to see a girl be so forward and assertive with her love interest, but Mear is still Best Girl. In whatever harem Wazu ends up with, I'd like for Mear to be the official wife, with everyone else as mistresses.
