I will NEVER understand the plot lines of the ML lying nonstop and being an ass without any form of explanation but then turn around and say it’s because he loves her. So because you love her, you’re allowed to be emotionally and psychologically abusive and manipulative? Absolutely fucking not!
Sad backstory or not, he made SEVERAL choices that hurt the FL and made sure to state that he had nothing to apologize for. I don’t like it at all. I’ll probably still stick around to see if things actually make sense and become a good relationship. But for now? Set him on fire or let him sink in the ocean without gear for a while (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Literally I'm dropping this at chapter 5 not just cause the grammar sucks, but how you gonna love all up on a woman and repeatedly tell her you wont get married, stop her from getting a promotion and then suddenly do a 360 and think its all fine???
I'm so angry, I get some relationships are cute and teasing. But this is downright, lying, hiding things, and just hurting over and over. He doesn't know how to love if he just keeps angering and hurting her.
And I hope he gets knocked out for several days. Disrespectful jerk needs the taste knocked out of his mouth a couple good times. (╬￣皿￣)凸
Finding out that the ML and mistress remain as a villain and vileness from beginning to end is such a a relief. She doesn’t get back with that trash thank goodness. Apparently ML is going to be a really good partner so yay! (≧∀≦)
This makes my brain feel confused. She wasn’t living the greatest life and was mistreated due to being unable to match with anyone. Goes through the traumatic experience of being yanked through a gate and lands in another dimension. Had the Grand duke not come to find her, she would have quite possibly already died from the environment or met a worse fate of someone else even worse coming across her.
She herself doesn’t do too well with actually slowing down and listening to the circumstances she was now in. Though that would be difficult with adrenaline pumping and having a flight response. Then you have the duke who didn’t have much hope for being able to have a future all of a sudden receiving hope but it won’t last long at all. It’s a horrible situation for both sides and both sides are anxious for their own survival.
Does that make it ok for him to try to detain her in the castle and not share any information with her? Absolutely not. But she also is kind of lucky to have met someone who is even willing to share any information to begin with. She also a freedom to move around just not leave the castle. She could have been picked up by someone who literally kept her imprisoned with a chains and strip her freedom in all ways.
Just makes me think about how if my reality became like this, I don’t think I would be able to have any chance at survival if I don’t try to adapt to what’s around me before losing it about being sent home. Like for instance, asking the duke how everyone has been able to survive and why he seemed so attached with me not leaving. Or asking if we could have some sort of exchange rather than a one sided benefit deal. ╥﹏╥

In the end I went away with the feeling that this mc was hypocritical. She was so desperate to get to her world like as if she wasn't looking for a matching esper all this time!
And she got a 98% matching rate. I felt like the author didn't deal with that bit properly. Like her dilemma should've been explored more. Like on one hand, she wants to get to her familiar world & on the other hand, the reason for her existence as a guide can only be fulfilled in this new world with Axion!

I think its because she is afraid of the unknown. Like whether he will strip her freedom away or abuse her abilities in the future. Also, don't forget they literally just met and when she asked him simple questions he either avoided answering or lied. In her eyes he is untrustworthy.
Yep! Also she literally forcefully fell into a completely new world that has a setting of the Middle Ages. I think people are only thinking about the esper part and completely ignoring the fact that literally everything she knows is back home. She might have a family and really love certain things that don’t exist in this world. Like if I was in her place, Idc if I never matched with an esper back home (disappointed yes), but at least everything else I love is there (and let’s be real no technology is actually a big issue).
Exactly, if she stays then she will have to make a lot of sacrifices, and I honestly believe her reaction is realistic.
These comments surprised me to say the least. I really enjoyed how this story turned out. It seems the main issue is the going non contact for 8 years. But think about it, they both transitioned into different colleges and then went on to navigate joining the workforce. So it’s not like they just sat on their hands the entire time. Not to mention, anxiety can cause people to be highly irrational when it comes to navigating emotions.
What starts out as just being a little worried at what kind of changes a single action could cause can lead to a full blown anxiety attack with becoming overwhelmed and cutting contact thinking it is the best thing to do. Emotions have never been able to be understood through linear thinking. It’s why we have both logical and emotional thinking.
Either way, I really loved the way this played out. (⌒▽⌒)
This is such a nice break from the amount of stories with toxic storylines. Is he a green flag? No. But the story is so light hearted and comedic and they are growing to be fond of each other ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
My guy lmao? I started the story then had to immediately back track after seeing the age gap was 12 years with him still in high school. Over here searching for their current ages after having the title “Cradle Robbing”. Nearly had a heart attack (￣∇￣")
