Reason for this: novels use words to get images into your head where as manhwas/manhuas already have images for you so you can look at the images and read what the characters say and think instead of the detailed descriptions of the scenery or characters. (I’m not an author I just observed this when I read a novel based manga for the first time)

I understand Kouichi's confliction. One the one side,he knows he has people that love him and been there for him since the very beginning even when he's completely alone, while the other side he has the person he loves for the first time, who would do anything for him even though he is different. If Kouichi was a friend of mine I would definitely ask him to choose what makes him the happiest.
