They brought their guide with them the first time and he died in there. I’m assuming they already knew about him being stuck as that monster, and him not just being bone dust after 10 years, or else they wouldn’t have been planning to go back in for him. I’m pretty sure they brought their guide into dungeons before all this but considering he died in there Andante wasn’t going to bring another guide in with them again
