It is a really simple story told in a very complicated way. I liked it. It is very sad. No happy ending but GiJu and YoungDo had so much love in a short amount of time. Only good thing is they at least got to know each other in their lifetime.
For me Giju had double personality thanks to his life long abuse, abandoment, and all the other things that traumatized him. The only good thing he got was YoungDo and YuJu and when he lost that... what's the point of living?

This was painfully sexy. The way they describe and tell the story of every piercing. The last piercing is so personal and deep. He allowed his new partner to control his pain and desires.

Garam had a really nice side story. Garam you can be cute and still be an adult. Not everyone has to act as a cold hearted adult. Life would be so boring if that happened.
Mr. Hwang and Soojung it was good they let hime heal their overall relationship. Yes she was bad with Taesoo and well everyone but after seen all her struggles you kind of see where all her issues come from. After he father died part of that struggle ended. She cut ties with her mother since she was toxic and tried to make her life better. Time heals. You have to forgive yourself, ask for forgiveness and move on. The world will work out the rest and this is what happened here.
Mr. Hwang now knows who Soojung really is and what she was capable of doing at her worst. So I'm sure he was relieved to see her changing for good and perhaps stay as friends. He surely still cares for her cause he understood her.
This is just World War II history explained as a smut. Really.... never thought history would be so hot and sexy... such a turn on.
