I’m happy someone else is logical like me and also isn’t a big fan of omegaverse.

My brain was trying to understand this as well! My brain is still trying to understand how they know when a female is born in the omegaverse. So. Omegaverse is primarily male/male main pairing since it got traction as a genre with this primary pairing. There are hetero pairings and even published novels with them. Omegaverse as a genre is fairly new comparatively and has not had the time to balance out amongst other romantic pairings. This genre even made its way into supreme court over an author wanting to monopolize the genre and hetero pairings as their own.

It can also be mixed with animal characteristics as a way to play more into instincts and/or to appeal to the general interest in animal characteristics as found in other genres.

Give it time and more volume of other gender pairings will show up. Though, Yuri pairings may be an acquired taste for some since all alphas have a penis, even females. Females are also able to impregnate either female or male omegas and you can find them as background or secondary pairings in yaoi main pairing stories.

So for dom/sub. I do not see why a play needs to be legitimize. Even a lot of vanilla sex has people who like to feel a little dominated by their partner or to dominate their partner. In very vanilla ways.

Dom/sub play culture has a huge emphasis on trust and it is alright if it is not your cup of tea. This as a genre is newer than omegaverse, but is still a genre that has traction and is growing. For those who have difficulty with dom/sub concepts, switches would be an added complication toward understanding and how they are incorporated into the rules of the genre.

Dom/sub and Omegaverse are two separate genres with their own sets of rules as to how they effect the world of the story.

Wanting to legitimize them through biological means is interesting. Humans are animals. We have pheromones. We have instincts and our own quirks. The desire to be dominated or to dominate. To feel in control or to let go and allow someone else to be in control. These are aspects that can be found in people. Biologically speaking, these are rather easy to find connections. Taking aspects or ourselves and fantasizing them is not an odd concept nor a new one.

At the end of the day, you choose to read what you want to. Your likes and dislikes are your own. If you find yourself not understanding or being uninterested in either or both genres, nothing wrong with that. My recommendation would be to simply not read them. I can see how they would be difficult genres for those who prefer more logical concepts and less fanciful or primal/instinctual based concepts.

All things considered, this story was very mild for a dom/sub genre. The main characteristics of the genre were there, but mild. A good intro to the genre but probably not as satisfying to those who have already immersed themselves.

then I realized that their ages are not specified in the main story, but we do know that geum hoo is actually a fully grown man, that he was in the military then dropped out after the tragic events in his family and raised his little brother by himself

So the age gap has always been here, the side stories just showed them earlier in their reincarnated lives than the main story, which explains why it was so obvious there.
