My theory is that authors are afraid of having to develop the MLs’ feelings toward their deceased wives, so it doesn’t end up looking like their love for the FLs is incomplete?? I think that’s silly, but honestly, with the way these authors think, it’s hard for it to happen.

I find one intense, whip smart, solid FL in a sea of generic leads and and the ML is going to be the father!?!? It was refreshing that there was no male character swooping in to fix everything for her, so I thought she might end up as a successful independent woman.
Even if she turned out to be unrelated, they were still father and daughter since she was born. Even if you ignore the moral degeneracy, that outcome doesn’t even make sense in the context of either of their personalities. Kanna does not show mercy to the people who abused her and is ruthless in cutting them off…so even if he was completely unrelated, it makes no sense for her to even tolerate him, much less end up in a (barfs) romantic relationship.
ah its fine.. I think I can give up on a good story, rather than seeing the father being Ml.
