Cesar is so hot. He’s evil and deserves a bad ending but he is fine.
Also, ruby is so pretty but I don’t like how weak she is and the fact that she cries all the time. Story is great though 10/10

I said my opinion is controversial don’t take this personally, lol. I’m reading this story because, like I already said, it’s good. The art is great. One badly written character won’t ruin the story for me. Ruby is just the classic damsel in distress and that’s not my type of fl.
You’re the one that has decided to comment on a post that warns abt a controversial opinion. Don’t get offended abt something you knew you were getting yourself into. Good day.

I get what you mean but i dont know if you understood the story at all because ruby isnt poorly written, maybe you just lack the understanding of what trauma and life long abuse does to someone or youre comparing her to some other manwha character idk, maybe try reading the novel which explains things much better in my opinion

Well said, I find her behaviour more real then 99% of MC out there , this is what life long abuse does to people. Victims of abuse have a hard time of voicing their opinions or fighting for what they want, even after they got out of that situation. Your body is thought that anything you say that may upset the other person will end up with you being hit so your permanently trying to ingratiate yourself to others. Is horrible.

No, I completely get that she has trauma. Sometimes it’s shown fairly accurately and other times just no.
It’s an exaggeration to make her more pitiful. Regardless it’s fiction so it’s not supposed to be 100% realistic.
Another point in her being poorly written is the fact that she “pretends” to be an idiot, but.. she literally acts like an idiot even when she isn’t pretending. The author isn’t making a clear enough distinction between the two.
This story is a carbon copy of so many. Take your pick of any character really from any of these types of stories and you’ll get a similar mc to her. And I eat these types of stories up so idc if they’re similar but, she’s completely 100% comparable to other characters and yes she’s annoying. Freya is right.
So far, Ruby has just depended on her husband for everything. So clearly this isn’t a story with a strong fl which is ok just not what I’m usually into so perhaps I’m biased.
And, thanks but I won’t be reading the novel anytime soon. Perhaps in the future when I have more free time.

It’s not accurate. As someone who has severe trauma, I would not use Ruby as a comparable character. They are constantly making Ruby weak and being saved by her husband. Her breakdowns are just excuses for more interaction between the fl and ml.
It’s a classic thing to do in these stories, but it’s insulting for you to compare her to real people.

is the reason you like freya because theres someone you find annoying? like.....your best friend gf/bf and so you're in love w your best friend? and thinks of the gf/bf annoying because you think they are stealing someone that is yours? ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノis that it? Thats kinda lame ngl
Because this is what i see in you fr
You think freya is good because shes trying so hard to become a homewrecker....wait are you a fan of homewreckers???? Like daym or you just like freya because she keep scheming and boosting her crocodile tears like a b??

weird to assume that she's gonna process trauma the same way you do (saying this as someone who works a lot with trauma patients). i don't think ruby is a damsel in distress, and the way she processes her trauma isn't unrealistic. she's behaving based on her OWN lived experiences as a coping mechanism. is it the healthiest strategy for her? probably not, but it's how she's learned to survive so far.
and she finally has someone like iz to depend on after having literally no one in her life to do so lol, give her some slack.

Gurl don't you think crying is SUPER VALID given the situations she ends up in? I'm sure you know what she's went through in all the lifetimes. The traumas run deep. She's been abused her whole life. She's one of the strongest characters mentally because God forbids but imagine going through everything She's gone through and still going through. In this lifetime, in the previous lifetimes, I don't think normal people would even remain sane. She has to pretend to be happy 24/7. She's doing everything she can to avoid getting killed, but she's everyone's still treating her like shit. She gets blamed for things she hasn't done. Ofc she'd cry because if things go wrong and she's sent back to her home in Romanga, the daily abuse will continue like before. No one would want that. The marks on her body? Do you know how hard you have to hit someone to leave scars like that? Physical abuse, sa, living in constant fear and still people misunderstanding her. She was married off and not even her husband treated her well in the beginning. He had his reason okay but Ruby didn't do anything wrong, did she? She finally got away from the abuse, came to a new place but what? Her husband was misbehaving with her, even the maids, the whole family and don't get me started on how Freya tried to frame her TWICE. Ofc she'd cry. She's a human with feelings too. Getting blamed for things she's done is one thing but getting blamed for something she hadn't done? It's frustrating, it obviously feels horrible when no one's listening to you. It's not like she even has a safe place to go back to. She's literally been abandoned in all 3 of her lifetimes.
Ik it's just a character and it may not be that deep but I just thought I needed to say these. People blame others so easily without even trying to understand what they're going through. Also not everyone deals with their trauma and pain the same way. I love strong fls and Ruby is one too. Strong doesn't necessarily mean being only physically powerful.
And comparing Ruby to Rashta? Idk how you even came up with that because this comparison made me think you didn't even understand the story properly no offense

To improve this I would drag out the Lily and ml storyline a bit to show that the ml is openly not a fan of mc and is focussing on Lily. I’m assuming the ml liked mc all along but never acted on it, so they could kinda show that in the first couple chapters.
Honestly I wouldn’t even have the love potion but since it’s already added let’s run with it. Ml gets splashed with love potion, he’s openly in-love with mc for a few chapters then mc gets the antidote. (Doesn’t take too many chapters to get)
Then ml maybe starts to act a bit distant, mc feels a bit sad, they eventually reveal their feelings for each other, the marriage is terminated, happy ending.
P.S: I also would make mc look like a man and act like a grown adult. Idk what some mangakas(?) obsessions are with ultra feminine and crybaby pick me mc’s…

This is my guess for their backstory.
Seo-in and mc become friends and gradually develop feelings for each other. Seo-in being manipulative and closed off to his feelings came up with the “practice” for him and mc. That way he could test mc’s reaction without putting himself in a position to be rejected. Worse case, seo-in could play that off as a joke.
They don’t date and don’t confirm each others feelings but their relationship is progressing nicely. Mc is proper head over heels for ml. At some point the (we assume)- creepy step-brother maybe blackmails ml to kiss him or something and mc unfortunately witnessed that.
Feeling betrayed, used, and disgusted, mc tells Seo-in that their “friendship” is over and distant himself. (Which is a fact from chap 21) and Seo-in probably has no idea why mc did that and probably doesn’t know mc saw the kiss.
Which makes sense why he’s such a jerk in present times. Seo-in is in love with mc but thinks mc betrayed and abandoned him so even though he(seo-in) wants to date mc, he can’t reveal his true feelings for fear of it happening a second time. This is why he’s doing all this roundabout stuff. And, Mc doesn’t understand his actions bc he doesn’t think Seo-in has ever had any real feelings towards him.
I firmly believe he didn’t like someone else and that the kiss was forced bc 1. He’s soo obsessed with mc 2. The way he kissed mc (in the past) vs mystery man is clearly different. One is full of affection while the other is aggressive 3. Seo-in has been having flashbacks of their kiss from hs so obviously that was/is an important memory for him
Can’t wait to find out their backstory and see if I was right abt anything

I’m stopping at chap 46 bc I’ve been reading all day.. but has inés met with Emiliano yet? Will she ever meet him again?

Spoiler:
No. Ines has no interest in meeting him again. After all, she blames herself for leading an innocent man to his death and strangling his child to death. Why do you think she almost died last time from hyperventilating. She is full of guilt towards as the novel author stated in her questions and answers to fans. She didn’t even think she deserves to live a happy life after killing her own child. So, how could she stand before that man again? Ines is also a person who learn from her mistakes and will not repeat them. She knows where the painter is and she has no interest in going to find him. She’s even sponsoring him anonymously and fully intends to remove that tie after he can get other sponsors.
Go back to that manhwa chapter when Raul reported on the painters she sponsors. She firmly stated in that chapter she has no desire to ruin her life again nor ruin his. The only persons who meet him in this story are Carcel and later Luciano.

Does Carcel know who he was to her when he meets him?
Since they were alluding to the possibility of Emiliano having memories of them together I was curious if they were going to ever meet. She’s stated in earlier chapters that she has no interest in seeing Emiliano but then seeing the jewelry made her want to see him and then she recanted. I don’t blame her, lol. I think it’s best she moves on from that past and focus on the present.

Spoiler
Carcel will find out about ALL the men she was with in the previous lives. Not just the painter. Most people focus only on the painter but Carcel will remember seeing her at the court smiling with the crown prince as well. Then he will begin to question if she really likes him now when he was the only one who always loved her while she chose others. So, yes, he begins to remember both men from her past. That’s why he went to visit the painter. He even realized that the pendant is something the painter left for Ines to discover. So he basically understood that his wife almost died because of that pendant.
As to Ines, since the stuff with the pendant, Ines pretty much continued to move on with her life. There is so many things that she finds out about her past lives that has nothing to do with the painter. Those things take up her time as more things are revealed. It’s Carcel who visits the painter when he begins to get memories even while Ines was preoccupied by other things.

Oh, it just occurred to me why readers didn’t know about Ines’s reaffirmation of her resolution. The manhwa cut it out. The morning after Ines woke up from her near-death experience, she stated in her thoughts that her goal is to die properly without making any mistakes. She added that not even the painter can stand in the way of her goal. At the time it didn’t occur to her that Carcel was a threat to her plan but look at it now. Ch 65 has her saying that she wants to live. Ines has always been seeking death but now she wants to live like she used to before she ever made the colossal mistake of marrying the crown prince.
Spoiler
And soon she’ll be saying she wants to live a long time at Carcel’s side before they die.

Yep. She says:
She wants to live a long time by his side. So she’s still looking forward to dying but at an old age. The final page of the story is them picking out their tombs where they intend to rest together eternally. Ines even names the ship Carcel gave her ‘La Eternidad’ which means The Eternity in English. On the last page of the story, she takes Carcel’s hand and he takes hers and they promise to walk side by side until the day they die together. In the last page they were only 28 years old. We do know they live decades because author did an afterword about things that happen in later years. Their story is the most complete that I have ever read in a Korean novel.

Based on the comments I thought this was going to be a stinker. The plot is a little lacklustre but overall it wasn’t a bad read.
I wouldn’t say they have no chemistry, but the author didn’t really give us any chapters of them getting along. And the kiss was such a tiny little thing.. and they weren’t even that close lmao. Would’ve made more sense if they were best friends.
To sum this up, it might be six chapters (I think 6?) but it felt more like a one shot.
But Gou making those guys fake attack mc is crazy. Gou knows first hand how traumatic mc’s attack was.
Mc should’ve ended up with someone else.
