and following it w “no— always, you’re the cutest rn” cus makito realized what that implied…. my dog is getting older and anytime i have a thought like “i shouldn’t have gotten a pet” because it’s inconvenient at this point of my life makes me feel like a POS! esp since our pets. we are their whole world. they don’t ask to come into our lives. now, that she’s older, i think abt how i don’t play with her much, the places she hasn’t been to, etc. time is so scary and it doesn’t wait for anyone. i really love this manga’s retrospectiveness on aging, and death . it makes me want to take ahold of the people and things i love and tell them so :’(
endou is endearing. like yamai noted, his actions are see through, so honest. how can you ever see his blubbering as troublesome—enough to forget he was ever your friend and let others torment him? over something he can’t help?
kuneida let others’ words get to his head too much… yes, he’s a guy so there might be a sexual nature to the crush — but that doesn’t mean he planned on assaulting him… why was endou’s affections stripped of everything besides its sexuality? weeeeird
did casca cry at the hill of swords because she got to see griffith again or cuz she was confused at how she could sense this was her “child” but it visibly isn’t itself anymore? like confused as to why it’s assumed griffith’s form/somehow knows and is upset its been overwritten/stripped of personhood in a sense?
i was so expecting for this to play out like the film ‘when evil lurks’… like once that old guy started talking crazy and opened up the gates, i’m like… “you’re done….you’re done” hfhfjfjkgm also the mangaka (and the whole team behind this) did such a great job. like, i might buy a copy of this if they have an official eng translation out.
also like everyone else has commented, the aliens motives for bioengineering humans (and our evolution) made sense. it was just too easy for it to all have been done out of a simple desire to co-habitate… or for it to have stemmed from altruism… also makes me wonder why everyone involved in up keeping the cradle never formed a coup d’ètat of their own? the director knew of the origins of the climate crisis (that is—that the alien were behind it) so it must’ve been common knowledge to others in power in his level… were the human livestock mills just a way for them to stick their heads in the sand—instead of coming up with a way to kill the aliens??? also also, what abt the climate crisis? how did they get the ships to stop cooking the sea up and shit like

i love kuma and enma. enma especially.
