3/5 mid as hell, more time and moments could’ve fleshed out the story better and the ending would’ve not been as lackluster, pretty art tho

To keep it short, I think the premise and plot are interesting and the symbolism of the characters and their relationship are worth exploring. However, I think the author’s execution is mediocre at best. I do think the story the author was trying to tell needed more time. Such as, more moments where Todd appears to be more regretful about what he plans to do in the end. Having Dennis be more hostile towards Todd when they first meet would’ve be nice and the phrase “Don’t trust anything except the sheep” should’ve rang more in Dennis mind as a added layer of internal conflict for Dennis (and in turn adds doubt to their relationship). All of this feels to quick as well and more time seeing them form a relationship would be nice. I think the time frame when they fall in love is fine but it’s the pacing and time skips that don’t add toward the reader’s investment in Dennis and Todd’s relationship. And I think all of this ends up making the ending flop, as the surprise isn’t all that shocking because it’s clear that Todd is sketchy af and it’s only time until he betrayed Dennis. That’s why I think showcasing moments where Todd is afraid to commit to his end goal might benefit the ending and possibly the whole story. Overall, I believe more could’ve been done and that the ending wouldn’t have felt lackluster to say the least.
