They were just children, 15 and 16 when this all started, Vincent's age in the current timeline. (Basically a high school freshman and sophomore got married, had a kid immediately, had zero adult support, and everyone is surprised that they ended up as crap parents in a crap relationship) There was so much miscommunication and misunderstanding. It could so easily have been avoided yet it was so hard to confront. This is a perfect example of how desperation, depression, and resentment fester into almost unbreakable cycles that are then impressed upon children who then end up carrying on the trauma that was never theirs in the first place.

I mean, girl is terrified of dude literally eating her alive, so she decides the best course of action is to give him blood??? She doesn't ever plan on getting it on with the guy she married ?Just saying if he actually did lose it, I'd rather chance really rough sex over getting torn to pieces

Uh, she literally was upset because he kissed her when he could have taken blood

This is a shit concept with a shitty plot and even shittier writing . Good "straight smut" list is as follows:
Blood of Madame Giselle
Under the Oak Tree
The Duchess's Lewd Invitation
Sultan's Love
Lucia
Like Wind on a Dry Branch
Summer Solstice Point
Hardcore Vanilla
What's Going On
Everything is Agreed
Lady & Maid
Prone to His Teasing

She's like 9 or 10 and he already starts with the make out scenes. It's really Pedo-tastic. It just continues from there to be one long psychologically manipulative and emotionally abusive wreck perpetuated by multiple characters. I skipped to the last few chapters thinking it would get better. It doesn't
But Becca and Naska would also be a great pairing. Naska wouldn't be threatened or feel inferior to Rebecca no matter what she wanted to take on. Rebecca won't be insulted by Naska's lack of emotional displays or even be afraid of him for being a different species
