The problem with Angie and Seraphina is they are basing everything on a past that no longer applies. Of course he was scary and ruthless, he literally carries a Death God's blessing. But he's literally restraining himself and second guessing every move he makes. His relationship with Angie is not the same controlling abusive obsession he had in the timeline with Seraphina. Nothing is even close to the same but they are refusing to see the current situation
