i think i saw someone mention earlier how they think it’s stockholm syndrome, but if anything i think it’s lima syndrome.
nakyum is fully aware of how horrible seungho is but only puts up with it because he truly has nowhere else to go (and he’s seen that the servants get punished when he tries to escape). it doesn’t feel like he’s under any type of delusion that seungho likes him romantically, and his reaction to seungho with someone else felt like him being scared that he’ll be tossed to the streets. it’s been mentioned before how he doesn’t feel useful, and i’m sure being told that he’s no longer needed hit him right in the trauma.
seungho, on the other hand? he’s obviously become infatuated with nakyum (i wouldn’t call it love quite yet) and it creates a really interesting question of what future chapters will bring. whether he’ll admit to it, who knows, but he’s been keeping nakyum around and letting him get away with stuff he wouldn’t have tolerated had he not taken a liking to him.
i think i read somewhere that the author is looking forward to the relationship development, so i’ll trust their word on it! i’m sure they’ve got something amazing planned for us. i personally would love an arc somewhere in the future where nakyum and seungho take time and space away from each other (which i feel would help solidify their feelings past lust), but i have a feeling whatever happens i’ll be around to read.

this manga was exactly the type of yaoi i needed rn a realistic romantic comedy that definitely nails both being in a queer relationship, in a relationship with an age gap, and in a relationship between two people who are *gasp* older than 25.
obvs there’s nothing wrong with a good high school/college drama, but this feels so realistic that i couldn’t help but smile through the whole thing.

soooo i haven’t read what the author’s said about this but i kinda hope that nakyum managing to escape and make a better life for himself is the ending of the story. i feel like it’d be a really refreshing route to take. he could be given a job as a court painter or smth idk, i just feel like he deserves happiness.

i think what got me back into this was me letting go of any sort of realism i was holding onto and just enjoying the story. like daniel literally has two bodies i need to stop thinking in terms of real life. this is high schoolers are literal ceos of companies and fight to the death type of stuff, it doesn’t need to make sense for me to appreciate the pretty pictures.

picked this back up after dropping off at chapter ~200 and boyyy i forgot how addicting this is,,,, like i’m not invested in the current arcs at all but i’m too far in to stop reading y’know? i feel like i’m being held hostage by my need to know the ending and what happens to the charas ;-; someone i think mentioned that the author confirmed that jay is a part of the lgbtq+ community (idk if this is true) and that’s also making me want to continue reading since lgbtq+ reps in manhwa are usually super rare if it’s not a straight up yaoi/yuri.
(also i get so excited whenever johan shows up (like i legit read this 70% for him, 20% for jay and daniel, 5% for eli, and 5% for my queen mira) so he better become a permanent member of the unofficial daniel crew soon so i can see more of my feral bby)
so i checked on wuxiaworld and there’s only seven chapters currently translated. is there no completed version anywhere? just wanted to know, thank you ^^
aside from that, i would let elena step on me any day
