I'm pretty amazed how the majority of the comments only care about the incest thing even tho there's much more fucked up shit in this manhwa going on lmao. I don't know why but this whole incest thing isn't such a big deal for me in comparison to the other issues with the story.

So many other dark and crazy issues and the majority only cares about the incest thing lol. I'm just amazed. Reminds me of these rape storys where the readers don't care about the rape issue at all. But it's fine, it's fiction anyway.
In my opinion, her loving and clinging to her brother who is the only person who treated her with love and care in this fucked up and dark society, is normal. In a world where everything is dark I would cling to my only light as well.

They are not siblings. They are not blood related either. Don't worry. Apparently there was no brother at all - the MC never had a twin. The mother made a deal with the devil because she needed a male heir. The devil transformed into the son and is very possessive of the MC and cares about her. The 'son' is not human, that's why they're not related AT ALL.
Anyway, I love how realistic this old society is this in manhwa. It's dark, fucked up and crazy. Man, the author did such a good job.

If I’m understanding him, he was talking about when he was having his first seizure. He interpreted her look of horror at his situation as hate. So vocally she never said anything (thus her confusion), but in a way, physically she did; and that’s what upset him. And frankly the fact that she keeps calling for her “brother” does suggest that she is rejecting the demon.

I thought that made the most sense--that Anette was the only one born, and the Mom freaked about not providing an heir and turned to the demon, and thus "John". I agree with everything you stated here. I usually stay away from stories that even have a little incest in them but this was so compelling that I couldn't resist. It makes it better for me that they're not even related so that's cool but from how everything else in the story is fucked up that the incest was the least of its problems. I feel for Annette and understand completely how she would even come to love her brother to the extent that she does given the shit that has happened to her her whole life. I'm loving this story and will continue to read it because it's so good.
