I might be wrong, but somehow I feel like the mangaka was implying that Kodaka Sensei was the kid who stole money in Ren's childhood memory. If he was, then he might have some grudge with Ren (or not; Miyuki Abe could be unpredictable with plots).

This is my all time favorite. i don't think you will find that easily such a manga again, but if you do please post them! My recommentation to you is "castle mango". If you have not read it yet it is a very good manga in a similar tone as this one. Good luck!
