I know that everyone hates Rashta but may I put some things into perspective?

If it wouldn't be for her... Navier still would be together with this piece of shllllllllt that is her current husband. She is taking one for the team. What a legend. The work of a saint

While I don't love Rashta, I do not hate her either... I can't judge her. She easily could have been a heroine in her own tale and her life is pretty much every sad backstory mixed up and served as a smoothie. Do I like her decisions? No, I probably would have done things differently. First I would love to see my other kid... You know beacause it's mine and I would try to lay low, so no one pays attention to me. Second, GET THAT EDUCATION. FUCK THAT MAN THAT CHEATS ON HIS WIFE. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND I COULD TRY TO LEAVE THE TRASH BAG.

But I do understand where she is coming from and her first thoughts being always on survival and safety is a nice change of pace. Normally villains go for power (which she does but only to be in a stable position), or some twisted love (I can't tell yet, if she is genuinely in love with Monsieur Bastard or if she plays him). She is resilient, quick-witted, adaptive and kind of ruthless. Love that.

Do I think that, with a proper education, she could be a better ruler than the idiot emperor? Yes, absolutely. She manipulated a unfavorable situation to her benefit and she is living in the court for like a half a year? (I am actually not sure) That's impressive. She may be not the most morally of persons but she knows how to get a job done.

Now... How would I like it to play out (I'm only at the point where she told that Roshar (Naviers brother if I got the name wrong) has pushed her)

The FL gets the good man, the honorable simp, the mythical actual nice guy, while Rashta gets Mister Douchebag. But she rises in rank, gets the favor of many nobles and the common folk (The slave that rose to the position of Empress, sounds indeed epic) and secures her position. She gets a beautiful child (there is no denying, the genes are there) and her useless husband mysteriously dies, she takes over as ruler while the child grows and the country flourishes. Maybe some people unalive under other mysterious circumstances, but that's for another discussion. She has a few burdens to take on, she adopts a child that looks a suspicious lot like her, but in general she has a great glow-up. Maybe she gets on friendly terms with the FL... From a distance of course.

You don't need to agree with me, but I won't discuss it either
