He understood her reasoning on why she wanted a rebellion ( since he entered the Kings study, and saw her name on the list) and she literally gave him an request (more like order) to bring the emperor to her!
He understood how much this means to her since they’ve been planning it, when she finally got his trust. He knew but he choose to be selfish and took that feeling of satisfaction away from her. So, I have every right to be mad and annoyed by him.

Diana is the sweetest little bean! The dad is a monster who kept them apart. Diana has always loved her sister and was always trying to share everything she had with Ancia, but if she did then the father would beat Ancia and accuse Ancia of manipulating Diana to get what she wanted. No matter how Diana protested and tried to defend her it would just make the dad punish Ancia worse.
In the original novel, Ancia's death left a massive sorrow in Diana.
