What are all these comments about fake updates JUST SCROLL DOWN PEOPLE

Again this man is so annoying I wanna punch that smug look off his face ugh.

1) This is so boring and typical from the character designs, to the art style, and especially the story everything about this is boring and nothing stands out to me. I was fighting to make it to chapter 16 because this had my eyes drooping.

2) For a manhwa called "Living as the Villains Stepmother" Hir is barely fucking shown, why were over half of the uploaded chapters just about fl and the duke like I came here for some mother son fluff If I wanted a stupid contractual marriage story I would have read the other 50 billion on this site.

3) Let's talk about the duke why did he fall in love with her so fast she didn't do anything Except participate (if we can even call it that) in what's one of the worst fight scenes I've ever read in a manhwa it's giving major Raphael from 'The villainous is a marionette' vibes. Also why is he so freaking possessive literally anytime she talks about or even looks at a another man he's mad it's not cute it's toxic as hell and is gonna get old really quick.

4) Now let's talk about that stupid fight scene more because I was literally lmao the whole time like what even was that first of all why did they bring go alone without any form of bodyguards or knights. Like you want to go catch this dangerous dude who you know has slipped through your fingers before shouldn't you be a little more idk CAUTIOUS. And on top not bringing any knights they brought no weapons either no swords, no guns because those apparently exist in this time period), nothing at all. Secondly why was she on the ground like girly pop if you're gonna be useless at least be useless in a safe area away from the fight. It got even dumber when she got grabbed and made the duke turn around like honey don't you have a child at home why are you so eager to get yourself killed. Thirdly if this man had magic the whole time WHY DIDN'T YOU SAVE HER. Why did you even let that dude grab her in the first place.

My conclusion is that this story sucks seriously this is like a 1 out of 5 for me. I can literally produce a better plot off the top of my head... Like we get rid of the whole contractual marriage plot and focus more on Hir and the fl's relationship and if you still wanna involve the duke we have him grow a crush on the fl an chase after her passionately with Hir growing protective of her... Bam that's a story I'd read.

Is it just me or are stories getting less and less creative these days everything is coming from the same pot. Another thing I'm noticing in some new manhwa these days is how it almost seems like authors are afraid to add more characters than the fl, ml, a couple extras, and maybe a second ml. Like in here the duke only has two knights in his training field during the day for some reason and the fl doesn't have any maids in her mansion it's so strange. Like you aren't gonna overload our brains if you add and name a couple extra people.

Also why the heck is the king trying to kill Edwin does he just want to end his brothers line like he has no children of his own and both him and the queen are up there in age so like is he just gonna hand off the throne to someone else I don't understand his thought process

So was anyone one else expecting it to be the king? I accidentally read a spoiler so I knew who it was but I know some people had their money on the grand duke. Any expectations or speculations for season 2? I feel like we might see Edwin and Arwin team up.
