I think he grew in a place with maximum danger and assassination attempts. Maybe it was a reflex. Cuz every single interaction with the ml other than that was him being extremely respectful and affectionate to the kid
But still reflex or not it wasn't even his house. You don't point a sword at anyone especially a child just because you don't know who they are. It's even weirder that he didn't immediately put down his sword once he realized that it was a kid. It wasn't down until FL rushed over. You've got to admit that's pretty messed up even if it wasn't malicious.
Very much not impressed with how quickly the husband was killed off he was more interesting to me. ML pursuing her now leaves a bad taste in my mouth too. Also the whole beast attack scene was weird. Like why was her first thought making ML leave her there and take the child back. She doesn’t sound self sacrificing she sounds like an idiot!

- Forced his way to the throne by killing his siblings
- Forcefully took her as his empress
- Killed her family and friends in front of her for trying to hide her even after she begged for their lives and promised to come back
- Locked her up till she went mad
- Kept her corpse in a glass case for 3 years using some type of magic to keep it fresh
Yeah og 2nd world ml was a trashy dude but let's be honest would he have ever ended up the way he did without the FL's interference. She forced literally all of this onto him so his goal was to make her as miserable as he was. Neither FL and 1rst world ML are innocent both have committed their own wrongs. However, despite those wrong in the end they got what they wanted. A version who loved them.
There’s just no end to this dudes jackasserry it’s just hit after hit with me feeling worse and worse for Dan, it’s hard to read tbh. He doesn’t feel even an iota of guilt. His redemption arc is gonna have to rival Zuko’s.
