If I weren't a veteran manhwa reader the beginning would be so confusing to me. The story is essentially a frankenstein between wuxia and the hunter genre, I wouldn't say it's terrible but it's not good either the explanations are overly complicated, and a lot of things just... happen (dunno a better way to say it). I enjoy the concept the execution just doesn't live up to it though gonna be a 5/10 for me.
Honestly, it's kind of deserved that the dad dies after all that stress he's put on his children and his mentally ill wife by not being there. Sure he had a country to protect but it's not like he didn't still make the active decision to have all those kids. It never should've gone as far as it did.
Why did it suddenly get so good for a side story???? The main story is literally atrocious but Cliff and Leon's origin is so freaking adorable (my only real issue is the cliffhanger since it leaves so many questions). Now I'm sad because this really could've been so much more than a r@pe fantasy yet the author chooses to put all that skill into writing actual nonsense (like what happened to the mpreg part with the womb).
I've never actually cried before while reading a manga, please my stomach hurts so much

What exactly did the empress do (or neglect to) that made Raymond turn out the way he did? She's literally his birth mother yet her own son is one of her biggest opps. Like there has to be a story there on why he doesn't listen to and/or avoids his mother. It could just be his fathers influence but I still think she should be closer to Raymond especially with his father being that man. I can't imagine him laving attention all over Raymond when he was young yet that's the parent he goes to first when he wants something.
Not just the father's influence but also the people who taught him from a young age. I mean he is the crown Prince. So he was given the education of one and maybe because of their beliefs he just followed their example and gradually drifted away from the mom.
Yeah my ongoing theory is that since it was said the king was incompetent in ruling and politics the queen shouldered all responsibilities and possibly neglected her time with Raymond and not to mention all people that surround him might have been buttering up with him and enabled his misogynistic view. Or maybe he was just born that way since he might have been tainted by his father’s genes idk
The Queen did seem more capable compared to the king in politics
I personally blame the author; Raymond is just another victim of poor writing. He's become nothing more than a one-dimensional villain who is just evil for no rhyme or reason, other than to perpetuate a story in order to further the plot. If they gave him a backstory of why he is like this, it would allow us to understand his character a little better and why he is the way he is. Was his mother neglectful towards him? Was he influenced by his father or corrupt nobles?
