I noticed that they mention she was so sad and depressed and had a lifeless look on her face all the time... she was depressed and tried to commit suicide for a reason. I think @Trodrigo was talking about the abuse aspect rather than the mental illness. You did make a good point though, I didn’t think about the time either... though that doesn’t really change my opinion cuz what they did was still wrong and ignorance doesn’t justify that. yes, but ignorance was why she was abused in the first place. if you tried to understand a bit more, you would see that the abuse was not completely avoidable.
Yes you’re right. But I guess what trying to say is even though I get why it happened, it still pisses me off that it did, just like the same way that it makes me angry that abuse towards the mentally ill was heavily prevalent during that time no matter the context.
