I agree, it does put a dark shadow over the rest of the story. But, I'm kind of hoping that the gardener said that to his ex just to be nice. That's what I keep telling myself. The feeling I get from him is that he is completely head over heals for young master, both physically and emotionally. But yeah, that made my heart hurt.
i really hope thats true, it still would have been nice to have a scene where the gardener is confronted. it was disrespectful from the very moment he even took him to his ex lovers house. =(
I agree - totally disrespectful. There are a lot of people that just don't think like that though. I know the gardener had another reason he wanted to go, but I would never take my boyfriend or date to an ex's, nor associate with them for that matter. The potential for conflict is just too much, even if there is nothing between them.
you make a great point. everyone has their own mind and opinions. its up to us to know, what kind of things we would find acceptable in a relationship. what kind of disagreements we can put up with. if only that scene hadnt been included this would have been one of my favorite mangas. i like to pretend that one chapter doesnt exist. I know exactly what you mean! I usually don't read comments but I just had to see if anyone else caught that -_- It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I honestly couldn't enjoy the second half of the story like I did the first half. I know this might sound crazy but I think I would have rather had him (the gardener) cheat, apologize profusely and then proceed to say the sex meant nothing and it was all a huge mistake. I know that both scenarios are horrible but I guess that would be my best of 2 evils. That one page really stabbed me in the heart. I know that sex doesn't necessarily equal love and I know he's crazy in love with his master but really?? I'm so bad ugh

in the first story its incredibly sad that the uke causes himself pain to heal the seme, and still needs to put up with him cheating for his job. its not something that will stop, and thats really sad.
the last story was the most meaningful. it would have been awesome if it had one love scene.

Just forget common sense, forget the fact that they can exchange phone numbers. Forget that they can meet out of school, at their home, a love hotel, an alleyway. If you can do that, you can open yourself up to loving this story. The only thing i dont like is that the guy that was against them never got what he deserved. He had students beat up, and yet he gets to be the one controlling the schools. He should have been expelled at the least. The author tried to redeem him, but they failed in my eyes.
Katsura has to be one of the most selfish characters ive seen in a yaoi manga. the entire manga all he cares about is his own thoughts and feelings. no one else matters. he doesnt mind having other people hug and kiss him, even when he has a partner. Im glad he did at least push them away. But he still hangs out and goes on dates with his best friend, the same guy that kissed him.
he knows it hurts his partner, but his own feelings are all that matter. Sou deserves so much better. i kind of wanted Sou to end up with Katsuras older brother.
When a 3rd guy became obsessed with Katsura and threw it in his face that Katsura is trying to juggle his boyfriend and bestfriend, who both have feelings for him. he acknowledges this, but doesnt care and keeps them both in his life. I thought his attitude was really messed up.
