The whole theme of lineage/blood ties and how cruel it was to everyone in the story makes lean towards this theory. Maybe they’ll even revisit one of the fake wolfgangs. I do feel like whoever the next king will be will 100% look nothing like Wolfgang and the previous kings. No blonde hair golden eyes in a “break the cycle” kind of way.
I predict Wolfgang will bring enough prosperity that the magic powers Goldenleonards possess won’t be as needed or! The dragon still hasn’t made an appearance yet so there’s a chance that the rules of the magic will change. Instead the person who is appointed king will gain the powers! What do you all think??

Are there no political repercussions on haizens (was that his name)part? His country just went through a succession war, support would still be shaky and he could’ve made enemy of another country.
Marriage between royalty tie countries together. I’m surprised the emperor didn’t see it as disrespect and a threat to himself and his country. In other stories a formal break up would even be treated badly as a severance of alliance but this is literal cheating...
