I'm wondering if the author will give ML a redemption arc, but it seems kinda inappropriate for this theme. If I didn't know better Id think this leads to a tragedy, but there's no tragedy tag. Honestly I just want MC to be happy, but two fires don't put each out out, they'll keep getting worse. Hoping for either Seongmin endgame or at least MC getting the fuck out and finding peace โฅ๏นโฅ
The story is all over the place. It's attempting to use serious themes without the needed setup & pacing to make them meaningful, each new pseudo rape/not rape feels dragging. Which is a waste because this could've been really interesting, I was low-key game for the empress and MC to end up together as they try to heal from the abuse of the Emperor. But it's too late, it's already treading on corny. Won't stop me from reading though just to see what happens, expectations be damned

I'm genuinely curious how Clauden can come to love Luan (again). What Clauden went through was deeply traumatic, and if this was me that was an irredeemable dealbreaker (even if it wasn't meant by Luan, the pain and humiliation Clauden went through was REAL)
I'm rooting for them so hard but at the same time it won't be satisfying if they only show Luan's turmoil, yet I honestly don't know what the right plan should be either. Usually a (believable) story will see this threshold of pain inflicted as a route to tragedy, or the 'better apart' ending, but I don't find that satisfying for this story either.
I'm very conflicted.
The pacing for me was a bit too much, sure I can buy this whole switching sides if they didn't do too many timeskips. Even with the whole MC saving ML moments, it still feels insufficient and not really substantial, because the story doesn't let it sit or marinate. It just moves on to the next thing. The timeskips are horrendous in my opinion because it hides what would've been interesting and believable points of development. Kudos to those who like this tho, in the end it really is just subjective (in this case not my taste)
