Ml telling his sad story to justify his act . He clearly just obbesed with fl , he didn't think about her feelings. If fl goes back to him that shows she doesn't have any self respect. You can love someone but at the same time also can choose to stay away from them. Second lead is also good person but If she doesn't love him it's ok .She doesn't have to choose any one to live a life.
Why kihoon is not the main lead. I was hoping he turnout the endgame with Haekyung .

Why people saying fl weak ,she is dealing the situation according to the circumstances, she is the captive of another kingdom after her country lost the battle. I think people forgot the timeline settings .it's not a modern day story setting . You don't call a character weak because they don't fought according to your prenotion. And ml also the knight of the enemies side why readers assuming that he will help her beyond his power. His showing kindness don't mean he wants to go against the emperor.

Beacuse author put character setting in right direction. This story is not using toxic seme like regular aimless manga. Author clearly shows that he is not some like normal regular person ,he clearly don't understand or feels emotions like other people . The context and story direction matters when you show the bad characters. I don't think toxic character are the problem in mangas but the unrealistic reaction they show by the victim towards his abuser in some manga is problem.
It's confusing ,It's like Mc imagining his presence and the person is someone else at the first time and also Ml reaction looks genuine when he behaving like nothing happen .
This one is the best dialogue so far when mc know how shitty he was by saying this I am trying to tell this motherfucker pushover that I will crawl into a nice garbage bag and take myself out of his life but he kep desperately trying to pick me back up and put me in a treasure box . â( TīšT )â
