According to the novel MCs father was SAd. No it doesn't make it okay, and we can still hate him. Nothing excuses his actions against an innocent child. He literally hired a maid to torture a child. The person crying about the dad "not being a good representation" of SA can go get fucked though. His happy life and marriage was ruined by it, so of course the child is a reminder. We don't usually see male victims of (hetero) SA. I think it fits the story's narrative and why he hates her without even making him a cheater. It's an interesting twist to have. Still hate him.

Not the morons still in the comments acting like you committed an actual crime for saying you still hate an abusive ADULT character despite (and maybe even because) his sad origin story. I'm not going to pretend a sad backstory makes up for any abuse that character did for themselves. 99.8% of comics have an abused or wronged MC or ML/FL with a sad past. I'm reading while hoping for ACCOUNTABILITY. Not for Dan to go "boohoo your sad past explains everything" and watch JK still be a dick. I'm reading because I still hope against hope the author won't cheap out on the redemption because of sad past like SO MANY comics do. Love it or hate it, JK sucks rn. Don't act like we're monsters for saying it

clock it. that’s why in real life ppl be forgiving men for being absolutely horrible and not allowing them to take accountability. We have every right to still hate his character regardless of what he been through. An Adult MAKES DECISIONS IN HOW THEY WANT TO LIVE AND HOW THEY WANT TO TREAT PPL. EMPHASIS ON THE WANT LOLOL
Idk what everyone is freaking out over, looks to me like Luso and Shagar pretty much had a contractual CNCish relationship. He was never mentally or emotionally harmed, just annoyed at best and scolding him for being rough. Toxic and Luso can fuck off, but this comic is actually really good and I love Shagar and Fio!!
You're right in a sense, but Shagar needed someone to take his magic. He didn't really have a choice in that matter. It was a life and death situation for him. Would he have kept that contractual relationship if he had a choice ? Obviously not.
You're right on that, the power dynamics are uneven and therefore unfair. I'm not defending Luso at all, he manipulated this from the start. I'm only saying that because of his past it doesn't effect Shagar as badly as it by all means should. However we did see that he stood up to Fio and said no. He has a backbone, and a sense of self, and I love that enough to keep reading for him and Fio and not let the beginning ruin it for me. That's basically the gist of it
