I remember that Manhua genre exists and is MUCH worse in this area!
Women are portrayed as seeing each other as "enemies" all vying for the affections of the men in their life. Usually a shitty father or scumbag ML.
There are never any sincere bonds among females in these stories. Always a two-faced fake "bestie" and loathsome half/step-sister all out to destroy the FL for little to no reason.
And the Patriarch is usually an abusvie bastard that allows his spouse to abuse his offspring and plays favorites with his children. Physically and emotionally abusing the less favored child.
And in this manhua, the FL has to prove she is "innocent" of not being gang-raped? wtf? As if it were to be the case, she has lost her value as a woman and human being. Seriously?
Wtf is wrong with the society these comics are set in? Not even the Japanese comics are that bad.

The reason she is hated so much by her father is that...
The MC isn't actually the daughter of the Marquess. She's the daughter of the Empress who switched babies when the MC was born. The Marquess knows that his real daughter died along with his wife which is why he hates Lesia and the Imperial family so much.
However, his real daughter is still alive it's the two-faced bitch Narua, the current mistress of the CP.
Narua knows the truth that she is the "real" daughter and that is why she spread those lies about the MC and turned the Prince against her. She is adamant in publicly setting up Lesia to be the "villainess" and herself the poor victim of her "bullying". Because Narua is resentful she grew up a commoner and Lesia had the position that should have been hers. Also, unlike her Lesia is an actual Princess.
Seriously, if Narua demonstrates anything is that the Marquess' family all have a hereditary gene that makes them into rotten and spiteful people.

It is really tactless of the FL to bring up so casually the people she had previously slept with just randomly after they had just had sex. She clearly has an inferiority complex and that is why she slept with randoms in the past and now has let herself get involved with a total jerk that doesn't even respect her.
In the novel there is flashback scene where Claude is still solemn about his life and he says to himself "why am I still alive?", "because I have no reason to die..." - something like that demonstrates his life is void of any meaning and he is basically a husk. This is after he has taken the throne from his brother and is newly declared the Emperor.
This is before he was officially acquainted with Diana and I think it's after she was sent to the palace as a "gift" from Sidonia i.e concubine for the royal harem.
He is standing alone in the palace gardens looking sad. And Diana approaches him saying:
"i don't mean to be bold and I am still getting used to the ways of the palace as I have previously lived my life with more freedom than this..."
"However, would you punish me for my rudeness?"
"but your majesty was standing here all alone like a lonely lost boy. So, I couldn't pass by without approaching you!"
"If you don't mind, will you take a night walk with me?"
"It's just a whim." "There is no significant reason as your majesty has allowed me to stay here."
"There is no price. But if you want to give me something then just hold my hand."
this when the new chapter of his life begins with her.
It would have been nice for this scene to be fully included in the manhwa. But Spoon had to dedicate 40-50 chapters about Jeanette at the expense of Athy and Claude's POV.
And after getting blowback from fans she decided to quit the series and is clearly rushing Claude's "POV" to end the series sooner than that plan. Claude is only awakened now due to pressure from fans of the series. She wanted to keep Claude asleep for the whole season and not even introduce Lucas back yet. Instead continue to focus on Jeanette's "character development" at the expense of characters fans truly loved.
It's kind of a massive FU that she spent all that time and changed so much in favor of Jeanette and after getting criticized for it (since Jeanette isn't even that important or well-liked of a character). She decided to quit and rush the ending because people were fed up with the pointless arcs and were disappointed with important parts of the novel being cut out. Characters not being included or important ones having their crucial scenes being changed.
I am a MASSIVE fan of Spoon the artist just not Spoon the storyteller.
I seriously do love spoon. She is encouraged me to start drawing again after years of thinking I would never want to do it again. But I have to call a spade a spade when it comes to the Jeanette fixation. It seems such a waste to spend that much time dedicated to a rather dim character at the expense of the ones fans truly loved or ones that were more interesting.
