It’s funny, some people now after reading the 2nd couples’ story, feel more sympathetic towards the uke, others still hate him cause he should have gone about it differently.
Not sure what more he could have done, since if he ever brought up any complaints he was shot down and deemed “childish” by his partner. He only got what he lacked - attention and affection - when someone else showed interest in him in front of his partner, at first he seemed hesitant, but once he saw how affective it was, we’ll it was of to the races and everything escalated from then on. He could have left his partner, but even that seemed like it wasn’t their first breakup, so uke probably went back to him again and again thinking “his love for him could make him love himself”.
Well anyway, I’m here just feeling bad for both of them, asking; this can’t be it right? It’s not gonna end like this? Their story wasn’t this deep to just be left without a happy ending... I mean the 2nd seme won’t ever be able to find happiness if he keeps on hiding himself from everybody around him, walking past his partner on the street and acting like they don’t even know each other...
So he kinda has to live with the fact that he killed his friend, and the possibility that he could have saved him if they just ran to the car and drove off, found the people with the vaccine and came back to try it on the friend...

Even if it doesn’t work on fully zombified people, they had no way of knowing that before trying ┗( T﹏T )┛
I think Chiga was following RE logic that fully turned zombies can't be cured. But Mishiba is like, "how do we know unless we try?"
He's right, but that makes his choice interesting. He can either feel guilty he killed someone early or feel he spared his friend an eternity of being a monster.
We'll never know tho cuz the mangaka didn't go further
