Ohmigod, third time through and... seriously,
I crie everytiem :'(

The ending is very beautiful and happy in a sense.
By the way, chapter 16 is like the epilogue, its ending is bittersweet, but still phenomenal.
Chapter 17 is like an extra story, a one-shot (it's also labeled as "chapter 4(end)" in another place. The layout is weird...). That one isn't necessarily a romance, but it's still sad yet beautifully written.
YOU SHALL CRY YOUR FACE OFF EITHER WAY! Lol.

I was around five or six when I first saw the anime, and about ten when I got into reading the manga, so when I became a fan, I had high hopes for the ending, but sadly... no. I do agree: the ending was all fan service, and it left the rest of us with a bit of disappointment. In all honesty, it should have ended at 698, with the actual ending being an extra, but what's done is done. So, thank you Kishimoto, because he introduced me to manga and anime in the first place :)
Sooo, I've finished reading the novel....
for the third time....
this month.
Shit, why am I obsessed with this??? There must be something wrong with me, this is so unhealthy >.<
Do you know where I could read the novel online? I used to read it in small bits but I'm not quite sure where to look to read it in full.
Enjoy!!! http://miawfantasy88.tumblr.com/post/84391855149
the story is great but jing makes me want to throw him a punch, then an uppercut, and a kick to the *you know man part.* finally, more slaps on until his face turns pink and then drag Lu Cang out of his sight. I think this is the first time i really hate the seme but of course this is chinese so i wouldn't know what to call him.
I've only read it twice but when I found it last year I lonights of sleep reading the full novel. I also read every footnote. I'm searching for similar novels. I think I found one, but for some reason I can't access all of it.
Lol, I know what you mean!
Usually when I read/watch something, I don't get all worked up by the characters (since they aren't real), but Jing REALLY pissed me off.
Like, I wanted him to suffer a bit more when the second volume came around; Lu Cang is waaayyy too forgiving, which is the only reason their relationship exists in the first place...
