While riftan is being the typical overprotective ml who can be irritating, I love how despite that, maxi is pushing back and has grown to enough to be as stubborn as him. It really shows how comfortable and safe she now feels with him. And while I HATE most male leads who have his personality type, i kind of love riftan. I would love an ml who never upsets maxi, but I kind of like that he seems written to grow and change instead of being perfect from the getgo.
I get that otherwise there cant being any character development, plus I think he serves to show how maxi is growing too. Him being so protective allows for push back from maxi to show how she is developing to be more confident and bolder. (It kind of sucks that her husband is the one that gives her development conflict for her development tho ) I'm not that mad at him cause I know its from a place of concern, not to be controlling, and he always gives up in the end when she convinces him. Though it is annoying to see how hard she has to convince him and I really wish he will learn that it hurts her, but in the recent chapters it seems like he really is getting it after he compared her to the princess.
He clearly still has his misconceptions about maxi but is getting corrected and starting to accept hes wrong. Hes still doing way too much and it sucks that maxi has to "prove herself" to her husband, but I get hes not wrong to not want to take a noble lady on an expeditions with monsters when they cant afford to be distracted to protect her. Though it was really annoying he wouldnt hear her out, especially since up to this point he keeps making her feel small and treating her like a child. shes grown so he needs to let her do her thing and train like a normal person instead of the delicate flower he thinks she is
To be fair to him though, maxi didnt even have faith in her own shield so what would have happened if it really broke on the expedition if he just readily agreed. He was right to be concerned but if he was more supportive from the beginning and helped her grow her talents, by this point he would have definitely known she can protect herself
I did NOT expect him to talk about this with Skylar, I thought it was going to be a background info that only the readers know abt him. I'm honestly so happy he was able to open up to him. I straight up wanna cry this is huge. Also.... I hope that teacher went straight to prison or will
Love the cute fluffy chapter but one thing I HATE is when they get so weird abt having friend, guy or girl. It doesnt matter if its bl or not I despite that shit and it genuinely bothers me but I just gotta ignore it cause the rest if the story is good. Especially when they act like that nonsense is cute. Like, that's been bros best friend for a minute and now he has to stop being "buddy buddy" with him? Deleting numbers that he "doesnt need". I hate the shit I have to ignore to enjoy what otherwise is a good story
I wanna read this and I like how they have an mc with a moral compass in a bad business who actually does bad things, like sending that guy to work off in another country cause it doesnt feel superficial like some stories who the authors SAY the mc does bad things but only so they seem edgy. This feel more authentic, but now I'm conflicted cause "panther" had that guy r-worded in chapter 19 or 20. Like... I cant get behind that. If that was the tone the webtoon is taking then I could just drop it, but the way he interacts with the mc until chapter 22 is pretty normal all things considered so I dont think their relationship is gonna turn noncon, so panther doing that to the debtor especially pisses me off. If this story was gonna have heavy noncon themes I would just drop it but he seems to respect the mcs wishes so now I'm just confused. If he keeps doing stuff like this i dont wanna read so if anyone read the raws can u tell me?

yeah i gotchu. i just bought the rest of the chapters on the korean site (it only cost me 1,75 usd). this is what i got from it.
- season 1 end with the 33rd ch
- there is no sexual moments for the rest of the season between the mc and ml
- they get into an accident and the rest of the season is just kinda about mysterious things going on ??
tbh i find the mc more annoying than the ml ... he is just lashing out and angry all the time ╥﹏╥ but yeah no noncon moments for the rest of the season. and no no rapey things towards other ppl

ok while I like somewhat possessive mls whatever is going on with seohyeong is way too far. With gyujin i feel like punishment fit the crime kinda but with seohyeong hes doing way too much. He is literally acting like his father atp and if he keeps isolating sooyoung I'm fr gonna be sick of him. I hope that there is going to be some serious character growth for him but not like some manhwa where the mc is gonna be like "he commits the most heinous crimes and isolates me from all my friends and throws a fit if I try to participate in any social activies but its cause he's hurt inside and needs me". I REALLY hope when sooyoung realises what hes done he let's him know that he goes too far. But reading a lot of these webtoons he might just accept him for what he is but i pray he doesnt fall into that passive mc stereotype sooyoung, please !!!
also jinhwans internal monologue (and the shit hes up to) makes me think hes eventually gonna become abusive/do what gyujin tried to do if sooyoung keeps hanging out with other people. if heroes really does and this gets the typical drama yaoi manhwa ending where sooyoung forgives everything he does Im literally gonna hate this webtoon. but reminder this is just me speculating just cause im scared and maybe overanalysing
