The ending is really rushed. The plot is good but the ending sucked
No, they didn't commit double suicide. It was seen in the panels that they were already barefoot during the beach scene since they were going near the waters. I guess, rather than the ending with the shoes taken off making it seem like a double suicide, it's more of "them being together".
