so as I said in the title I re read this cause I thought the first time I read it I was experiencing hallucinations while drunk. (I was not). However I didn't understand the story the and I sure don't understand it now but I will make a drunken theory. this right here laddies is the vessel of Lucifer IN THE FORM OF MC. Don't LEAVE YET LET ME EXPLAIN. MC has a small part of his life through youth where he was quite literally demonic as shit but forgot it and regained his "purity" back which in return tainted ml for the days to come after. Bestowing him the curse of blessing of death through the control of past lives. As well as the fact that the whole quote that "demons hide themselves through beautiful appearances to attract those to foolish to realise" quite literally what happened to everyone around MC and ml. And at the end where MCs reflection stares back at him with RED EYES that bitch is the spawn of satan. but see how it was always only him who got a distorted appearance but not Ml when they are together. Lock in with me yeah. MC is the birth of a demonic source that could only truly survive by residing in another and it decided to chose a person with fear hopelessness anguish to feed from before returning back to its place in MC. IM ACTUALLY HIGH ON COLE ISTG
The impulsive need to escape but when you realise you can't you start to dissociate then become docile until ever little thing causes you to panic. Then when the rat who puts you in this mess comes to help it feels like a saving grace and you can't help but attach to it because they've been by your side at the worst This story is what I mean by Stockholm syndrome needs to be portrayed properly instead of how they do it in those fuck ass bls like "painter of the night" and pass it off as real love.

However MC was actively imaging ML as a child throughout the entire story when he was asking for "his highness" so I'm not sure how I feel about this...
It's a little weird for sure but if you felt that put off by it why read 70 chapters? This has been the premise for most of the story it's not like they just now revealed that those two are gonna start dating...

i think abel also got the squick when they kissed if that makes u feel better lol like in his mind he knew he had grown up, its been 11 years so now abel and karas are the same age mentally, but since it was a time hop for abel its disorienting. he had imagined him to grow up as a frail young man and completely separated the concept of the kid he raised from the grown man he's been interacting with the rest of the story. i think he started to develop feelings for 'captain commander' independently and now fusing the two - the kid he raised and the king he's intrigued by - is confusing and complicated. he pretty much shorted out when they kissed and i attributed it to that internal conflict.
i think this is the most tastefully done version of this trope ive seen - the guy who is older is on pause while the other guy grows up, he has no idea its him as he falls for him, and they are intrinsically bound by fate to be together so it was unavoidable in the first place like the regas is sent for some divine reason to be there for the king in whatever capacity he needs, so him coming as a caretaker, then dying and returning as a lover makes a whole lotta sense for this type of plot. i dont like the whole "dating ur adoptive son/dad" trope
