I basically read chapter 26 as: Date me, friendzone, friendzone, friendzone, worship me, annoyance, annoyance, mystery.
So the prince has been a bit (a big bit) of a d*ck yes and it sucks being forced into a marriage (he should have expected it though being royalty) but like with the way his father treated his mother (and this doesn't excuse his behaviour) I get why he might be having trouble with how to treat/how to be married to someone.
