i’m happy i stuck out the crazy set up because this is actually really well written. fl and ml are so alike yet opposites at the same time while the friend, even with good intentions, has always been selfish and unable to see others feelings. i’m excited to see how all the characters grow.
btw i don’t hate the friend but i do see how she uses people like ML but seems genuine with FL

THIS! there's nothing wrong with being honest and even being in casual relationships like that. You do you. It's completely fine to reject someone, you don't owe anyone feelings. But to intentionally lead someone like this with "I don't like you but I don't don't like you" is a pretty shitty thing to do. Especially when the other party is that serious. Not saying you can't be friends with them but come on, set a clear boundary

yall hating on gaeun when she’s the most interesting character. looks like she can sense spirits, has no memory of her life prior to being in the village, we don’t even know if her dad is her dad either. whatever her appearance means, it’s at the root of what is going on in the village. her being nauseous right now might mean that the “mother” isn’t a protector spirit but something more sinister. mc is getting revenge sure but why was gaeun brought to the village and why does she have no life before that.
It's probably because author is trying to add a love interest so badly (in this case gaeun), ruining her entire character. I do agree that's she's pretty interesting as a character tho
