For once please god oh please let there be a sweet manga without rape in it...this could have been the same even without rape. I mean did there had to be a “sex” scene on the first chapter? No. It would be the same. Nothing would change. He could still give him a job and a name and they would still bicker. I hate rape is just seen as shortcut to sex instead of what it is: a traumatic horrible act of violence, an act of harm and hate and definitely not love

It's honestly just disgusting at this point that the entire genre is just known for this. Hentai is always compared to this genre but at least Hentai isn't romance and doesnt try to be, BL has different subgenres but unfortunately it gets all grouped together from innocent boys love to just straight smut as unifier umbrella term. Thats not its fault however the issue is rather the genre's use of romanticized rape not rape itself as a visual device. This bleeds into these subgenres as I've mentioned and then become a pinnacle to writing any sort of BL. It may be a cultural thing, audience, or just western ideals forced onto a genre not its own to fully understand it why this it. But we live in 2021 and there has been no change to how BL is written since it's conception in the 70s.

it’s ridiculous because from the first chapter until the second, almost everything he’s doing is all forced and against his will, like he was found and all of a sudden he has to serve the very same man that sexually assaulted him? he’s a commander right? not royalty? he’s not indebted or anything so just because he “likes the look in his eyes” he made him into his page. what in the bl logic is that? mans literally trying to survive

the yaoi genre was created by women for women. they essentially wanted a "more emotional" media of hentai with gay men. but it sucks because they just ended up romanticizing the rape plot narrative from hentai and fetishized gay men.
totally agree though. why are there still pointless plot points with rape explicitly included? i get an implication to maybe discuss rape-victims and trauma but yaoi usually completely glosses over it and justifies it as a healthy relationship for fucktards to gush over as "cute". your explanation and expression of it being a visual device literally pinpoints the problem perfectly.
i get rape kinks but who wants to see a sexual crime be painted as romantic? anyways i usually just ignore or rewrite these kind of stories in my head so it won't bother me as much. or i just enjoy the handful of actually really good BL that exist. honestly thank you to the creators that take the time to write a genuine BL story with enough smut and good plot and thank you for the yaoi hentai creators for staying in their lane and not romanticizing shit.

Totally agreed and bc its supposed to be created by women for women it makes me question that these women themselves have been brainwashed into thinking rape is in a way romantic, to either cope or justify it. In a “He likes her sooooooooo much that he can’t help himself” way and I feel so sad and angry that still in 2021 there’s no change in this mindset.
One super popular manga that started with rape and turned to romance acknowledge this by having the side characters talk about rape and the seme was shocked and sad and angry at himself bc what he did to his current lover was also rape and I was like “see you can change and acknowledge and atone as you should” not the ignorant bullshit

Does anyone have the discord link? Or password or whatever you need to join the discord?
I don’t know how to use discord...

The first credit page in the chapter has the link to their server.
Here it is, you will probably need to make a discord account too.

Why was his train of thought like: “he was never interested” ===> “I kissed him. I told him I loved him”=====> “he is rejecting me” no no no there’s something wrong here
It should’ve been: “he was never interested” ======> “I raped him” ======> “I’m a criminal”
I really really hope actual men don’t think like this but “no” isnt in their dictionary so idk

What I expected: something like bnha. “I want to join ISO! I want to save people and fight worms!” Okay let’s train together! Woohoo ISO came to our school this is my chance to prove myself
What I got: high schoolers being eaten. The dilemma of becoming a worm and staying human. terrorists attacking the city using worms. City being on lockdown and people dying. The labs experimenting on children.

We just saw her draw a circle on the wood with her talons so...why can’t she just write? Like anything really. “Hey im the 3rd princess” or “hey im a magical bird and I understand you”

In her place, I would be afraid to say about human identity. She is afraid of the sisters and would have to tell one of them to her fiancé. Now she is safer because everyone thinks she is a strange bird and only Valhayle realizes that she is more intelligent than ordinary birds, but no one else has seen it.
If she started communicating with other words, they might start asking questions or somehow finding out about her identity, and that would kill her. I think not communicating is the best option until he knows more and knows who is trustworthy

My thoughts exactly, and also if she communicates to the captain dude, his subordinates can start thinking he's like actually crazy and risk his leadership. His troops start questioning him it'll effect the fight, they're already struggling as it is, so if they don't trust him it can cost them the war. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
At least this way she can be of use to the war effort and be able to do it without feeling she needs to constantly hide.
sorry but it’s a no from me UwU 10 year age gap when one of them is in high school and a minor is just a big no no
