it is highly unlikely the story will change though, as we’re just reading memories of the past ++ that would make the very first chapter, or panel completely unnecessary, and having no impact on the story despite how important it is.

The manga I very popular and the mangaka knows how much ppl want a happy end for them, I think that she is smart enough to change it in a way so that the plot and the 1st chapter still make sense. Ive already seen a few cases where authors changed the ending or made an alternative ending. Its not impossible but it is very unlikely she will actually do it.
