Because for me, them slowly learning about how the magic works and clicks, the magic system, how the ancient magic is more complicated but does so much more than modern (fast) magic, it's so niiice. And then the discovery of new monsters, the new possible industries that could develop from her research it's all so nice.
Honestly it's just right up my alley. I love romance, but too much or just a focus on it leaves me bored after a while. Here, I get to have a cute couple slowly get closer as well as more interesting (to me) plot points going on all the while. There's even a little bit of politics sometimes.

No, I think the kids will have normal human life spans. As for Kouichi, he said, in a earlier episode, that he would try to become a legend/corpse after he died. I don't know if what he said is possible, but I'd like to think he would.

I don't think so in this time. Since the conditions of the past that made thst happened has been met. Things are different now. 1) MC's son isn't traumatized anymore from the neglect he got from the ogMC 2) MC's son and the ogML are now friends 3) ogFL's mother is no longer dying or dead.
