so far.... the story is yet to be explained. yep, its at ch. 40 something right now, and literally no one gets the story. ok so basically lai finds out prince hector had already known he was a fake but was playing along with it LOL. turns out hector and real ellen were teaming up, for something???? never explained. lai doesnt tell edwin of this info because that means edwin's whole plan (fooling hector with fake ellen) is ruined and so he no longer needs lai, and would most likely kill him or abandon him or smt. edwin finds out abt it pretty soon after, but he suggests to lai to team up with him, for something??? it seems lai might like hector (or the affection he gives him bc he never got any) but he thinks hector likes real ellen bc hes showing signs of it (for example, while they were having sex lai once asked hector why he only does this stuff with him and not ellen and he said that he could never, and lai interprets that as him saying that ellen shouldnt be "tainted"). but then later on it turns out like a couple years back hector met lai already for the first time. lai was an assassin, so hector would constantly look out for any signs of him and always try to fight him to capture him, but deep inside he always knew he would never capture him bc he grew affection for him. anyways lai once gets poisoned by an aphrodisiac and so lai and hector have sex. and after that day hector couldnt find him at all and he was kinda depressed. but then like a few years later he sees him again. thats basically it. oh yeah also turns out ellen and lai are twins, not that surprising tho. oh also edwin and ellen love each other but theyre the only ones who dont realize it LOL. so im guessing its gonna be edwin x ellen and hector x lai. ok but like this story is honestly so confusing cuz they explain but dont explain, idk.. like we dont even know why theyre teaming up and fighting against each other, like for what

also i feel like rlly bad for lai bc hes CONSTANTLY used. like he cant even fight back when hes being beat up almost to a level of an attempted murder and sexually assaulted bc he has to keep up the ellen image, which is never fighting back. he has to keep pretending to be ellen so edwin doesnt abandon him... and he was used already a couple times by edwin and hector its rlly sad. before he was brought in by edwin, he at least used to kinda have an edge and was more fierce, but now hes always quiet and sad.

aint no way it just ends like that.. ok first of all, this is a shounen ai but we never even got to see them date. we don't even know if hart sees him in that way, he never specified it. thats actually ridiculous. second, we definitely need more info on their childhood memories. they didn't explain anything, all we know is that hart used to get a lot of surgeries and they were friends and jasper gave all of his luck to him??? umm ok?? how does that even work.. and they both suddenly remember it after a car accident LOL. and what was up with that car accident? that was so sudden and random lmao. like why were their memories erased in the first place? and we never got any explanation for why jasper's unluckiness started getting worse when they separated. the whole william thing was weird as well. lmao like he suddenly appears and harasses jasper. um if we got a better explanation of his backstory, we could feel a bit of pity for him. it was so random i just let it pass by.

its rlly disappointing that we never actually see jasper getting better. even with hart beside him, that won't guarantee that jasper will drift away from those negative thoughts (all my fault thing, bullying ptsd, etc.).
hart as well, like at the end he says he will TRY to make it there but we never actually see him becoming happy and no longer suicidal.

plus the time that they spent together was actually so short and not that meaningful (in the reader's perspective) that i just don't understand how their actions moved each other so much. like istg the only thing they did was holding hands and hanging out sometimes, like was jasper bumping into a shelf that meaningful to u???

overall there were so many plot holes like idk what the author was thinking, also this story was just so rushed...

MAJOR SPOILERS:









basically after getting his memories back he gains full control of all the dark mortals. he no longer feels emotions, which was his biggest weakness. using the green eyed dark mortal's ability, he successfully turns all of the investers into his puppets. literally that professor didn't notice anything that strange until near the end, lmao so dumb. so when the day of the auction comes, mc reveals himself and makes all of the puppets (investers) take off their ring so that their dark mortals will be released. the dark mortals all had deep hatred for the professor since he used them as lab rats, so they make them feel all the pain that they felt. also it turns out that kkamjang is his brother. i know, it all make sense now. eventually kkamjang's body is ripped apart bc for the dark mortals to finally get their peace they need to rip him bc he is what is keeping them here. and so gangnam and seo ho and everyone else no longer has dark mortals, yay. oh right, gangnam is dating the blond girl. he had been for a while but they started dating when he couldn't feel emotions so technically they weren't dating... and ten years into the future, the short black haired girl is dating seo ho, mc is married to the blond haired girl and is a preschool teacher, and the mma fighter guy is really famous now and finally achieved his dream.

and at the end the mc was showing his students a drawing of kkamjang. the students said it looked scary and why its black, and the mc said that the colour black brings him comfort. bro so sweet i love it

overall this manhwa made me cry so many times.. i mean this ending leaves me kind of disappointed and empty tbh cuz i just read that all in one sitting, and also bc everything was resolved so easily towards the end.. anyways its still rlly good

yall i heard she gets her revenge and he commits suicide after seeing her happy with her husband. thats literally my motivation to keep reading this cuz i just wanna see him fucking heartbroken and so regretful for doing what he did. i hope when hes in a depressive state, hes like "what if i approached her in a better way..... why did i do all that to her..... what if we fell in love under normal circumstances..... could she have ever loved me..." and all that bs cuz goddamn that gives me chills just thinkin about it

its on hiatus rn btw. ilho joins the baseball team cuz he good at it. and this mint haired girl appears and becomes the baseball manager and she likes ilho. she told the mc that she doesnt like anyone and that she just wants to do this job, but shes a lying bitch so yeah. and then she told her friends that the mc said that she doesnt like ilho (uhhh mf she never said that) and told her that she doesnt belong with ilho. the mc kinda stressed over it for a while but gains confidence and tells her publicly that she really likes ilho and they start dating. ofc siwon likes the mc and ilho found out but its all good. and yeah not much has happened tbh like its was all expected

With worried eyes, he slowly approached Ariadna. "I'm glad Asisi's sword lessons were of help to you. Here, I'll help you get up." He put out his hand for her to use as support. She didn't react. "Ariadna...?" All of a sudden she collapsed onto the ground, and that was when he was able to notice that she had a dagger, pierced right into her stomach. He clutched his arm to stop it from shaking. He leaned down to her face and caressed her cheek. "...Go get the royal doctor." Everyone stood there in shock, frozen in place. "NOW!" What was this sting he was feeling in his chest? 'I should get myself checked with the royal doctor too when he arrives.' "Papa..." she croaked. She was breathing raggedly but with a smile on her face. "When I was born and you choked me..." she chuckled as more blood splurted out of her mouth. She couldn't see what was ahead of her because her tears blinded her eyes. She couldn't feel the heat of her tears that dropped onto her palm, as if she was collecting raindrops. She clutched her chest as she gasped for air. Caitel observed with a blank look on his face. 'What is she so sad about?' Then he looked down to see the body he was holding in his arms. 'Ah.' He silently stood up. Everyone's attention was on him as he walked out of the room. Once he reached his room, he laid her on his bed very carefully, as if she was a very fragile piece of glass. He sat in his chair, and closed his eyes. Hours passed as he slept away on the chair. Once he woke up, Ariadna was no longer sleeping in his bed, but instead a very beautiful casket. 'Ah, that's right, she's dead.' he chuckled. All of his servants watched as his chuckles turned into laughs. He laughed maniacally. "Ahahaha! I was going to sell her off one day anyway! I guess the assassin and I are comrades then? Pfft..." Everyone turned quiet. He walked back to his room and sat back on the chair. Right when he was about to close his eyes, Perdel, Silvi, and Asisi walked in with tears in their eyes. "Let's have some wine," Silvi suggested. Caitel looked out his window with a glass of wine, a blank expression on his face. Silvi broke the silence. "...Are you okay?" "About what." Silvi murmured, "...Ariadna." "...Oh, that? Then, one by one, his tears starting falling down. 'What... is this?' Caitel looked up to see the three with the same expression. They embraced him tightly. His neck tickled from their ragged breathing. Was it their warmth? Whatever it was, it was enough to melt away his barrier. He let out a quiet sob. "...She died knowing I choked her when she was born... I thought she was just a happy girl, I didn't even realize she was carrying that knowledge with her the whole time... What was she thinking every time she saw me? ...Do you think she hated me?" His sobs turned louder. "No, Caitel, she loved you. I'm sure of that." How was she able to be certain about this? He knew he would never have certainty to these questions. After all, Ariadna wasn't here to answer them. "Ariadna... I miss her so bad.. My chest hurts so much I can't breathe.. and... and... I never got to tell her I love her. And now she's dead.." "And I never got to even hug her properly!!" Perdel yelled to lighten the mood. Everyone chuckled sadly except for Caitel. "...What am I supposed to do with my life now.. Tell me, how do I move on from this... Just give me an answer, dammit..." He had no energy to squeeze out his tears anymore. He felt numb. He wanted to cry more, but he couldn't. 'Is this karma?' He gasped for air. "Why... why did my daughter's life have to be taken to satisfy your karma? She's just an innocent, and cute... and... and... lovable, girl... Just let me suffer, not her..." He slowly closed his eyes, he was so exhuasted from crying. His tear-stained cheeks made it hard to move his face, and so he went to sleep with discomfort. When he woke up, he unconsciously reached for his side. 'Oh, right." He ignored the pang in his chest and carried on. His days went by like this, empty and hollow. The warmth in his chest that he was feeling just a few nights ago disappeared as if it was never there to begin with. The dark world he was living in before was welcoming him back. He was bound to get used to this again..

basically, the mc wasnt trying to make a wish, he was simply intoxicated and yelled out for the first time what he wanted. he didnt even receive the call for the wishmaking. what happened was that baek kang is like a wish listener?? something like that, so when he heard the wish, he said that he would make it come true, and thats what triggered the wish. the mc is a total bitch. he no longer likes cha hyuk so when cha hyuk said he likes him, he tells him his feelings are all made up from the wish. that may be true, but its not (we find out later on). he continues to brush cha hyuk off to chase for his new love, like at least take responsibility, will you?? i mean at least he isnt giving up and is still trying to fix the wish that he made that technically isnt his fault tbh... cha hyuk is actually a really lonely and sad character so basically the only person he cherishes is ha jae. even the reason why he tried to k!ll himself once in the original time was bc ha jae was avoiding him, and that was bc the mc told him about how he is gay, but cha hyuk was upset that he didnt tell him already, so he was pretty salty to him. so yea. so when ha jae tried to end their friendship once and for all, he goes crazy and r@pes him. yep, crazy i know. his sad past definitely does not justify his actions and i really hate him now, though he is quite pitiful. baek kang is kind of a problem character too, he blamed ha jae for quite some stuff, made him miserable, and ran from his mistakes. you know how everyone suddenly got his memories back while he was in a coma? and how all the blame went to ha jae once baek ra got her memories back and k!lled herself? actually... baek kang was the one that made the wish to get his memories back, and everyone got theirs back in the process. and he proceeds to make the dumbest excuses for why he is placing the guilt on ha jae. ha jae and baek kang FINALLY meet up after like 30+ fucking chapters, and they find a way to cancel their wishes. and they go back to 2010 or something, and its the day that baek ra and cha hyuk were supposed to get married. YEA BAEK RA IS ALIVE AGAIN. the mc still has his memories. baek ra doesnt but she got some glimpses of her past and shes not sure what it is but she wants to explore herself or something so she breaks up the marriage and leaves. ha jae is once again, looking for baek kang (bitch when u gonna stop w da obsession) and on his way he meets cha hyuk. then he suddenly asks "do you still love baek kang?" which totally surprises him cuz he thought he aint have his memories. and cha hyuk hugs him from behind and i thought its all gone to shit again but then he says that he doesnt want him to hate him again, so he lets him go to baek kang. and yes, most likely cha hyuk still likes the mc. and so yea, ha jae finds baek kang in front of his house, they kiss, the end.

basically he keeps suffering from these dreams of her killing him and sends assassins to her secretly but shes strong so she continues to stay in the palace, also she loves him and has a sliver of hope that he will finally remember her. one day, he is so sick of it that he personally goes to kill her. he pretends to be nice to her and she runs to him happily, thinking he got his memories back. she hugs him, but then he stabs her with a dagger he was hiding. she falls to her knees, and right as she does he gets all of his memories back, when he loved her and cared for her. she caresses his cheek, "why..?" a tear streams down her cheek as she breaths her last, collapsing into his arms. he forgets to breathe and silently stares at what he has just done. once he realizes what he did, he starts shaking her shoulders in an attempt to wake her up. "no, no.. wake up.. hey, wake up.." warm tears stream down his cheeks and onto her face and he caresses her tired face. 'i did this to her... i, i got a new concubine.. and i sent her those assassins.. and now i, killed her with my own hands..' he stands up silently with an unreadable expression, carrying her in his arms to his chamber. "ah, your majesty!" it's that concubine. she runs up to him, and once she sees what he was carrying, a large smile forms on her face. "haha! you finally got rid of her! thank you, your majesty." she says while sneakily sliding her arm in between his arm to cross them. then suddenly, his anger explodes and grabs her frail neck, slamming her into the wall. "HOW DARE YOU, YOU LOWLY BITCH!" he yells as he squeezes. she struggles and scratches his arm, but she is powerless. just before she dies, he lets go of her and walks away from her and to the chamber. once he's alone with her who is no longer alive, he gently lays her on his bed which he used to make love with her dearly. he stares at her for a moment, then starts crying hysterically. he thinks back on their first encounter, then the time she asked to team up, then the time she made up a genius plan for revenge and looked up at him with a bright smile, then the time they first made love to each other. and now.. the time he killed her. he looks at her, which is only now a body that was turning cold by the second. 'i.. i'm never going to see her smile again, aren't i? that is worse than death. yes, i deserve to die.' he takes the dagger out of her stomach which made a squelching sound and he flinched. he points the dagger at his chest. 'at least when i die, our blood will be mixed together. if god grants me another life, i hope i can see you again.' one last painful tear streams down his wet cheeks and he plunges the knife into his chest. he sees his vision blurring. 'this is how you must've felt.. how alone you must've been..' and he collapses onto her, hugging her dearly.

god did grant them another life. after all, they both died unfairly. but in this life, god also put down a curse on li jian since he was not innocent. he will have the memories of both past lives, but no matter what he does, she will never fall in love with him. that was his punishment. he had to watch the love of his life slowly fall in love with another man but will have no control over it. no one but god and the lovers knew, that they were ill-fated from the start.
