I get that they're still grieving and devastated. After all, they're high-school and it's definitely too much to lose a good friend since he's a childhood friend and a boyfriend too. He also died in a painful way with a painful reason.
BUT the author could've portrayed the moving in process by showing the "moments with Ue" rather than "lingering in the past while making up an excuse to involve Ue and use him to help Mafuyu and friends to move on". That way, she can bring them up without overshadowing each other. Cause honestly atm, it's like every chara's action is influenced by Yuki.
It could be "yeah we're still devastated but we have Uenoyama now, he can't replace Yuki nor do we intend to replace him but Mafuyu is moving on and Ue is helping him" rather than "Let's invite Uenoyama to think about Yuki and hope that somehow, we finaly let him rest in peace by doing so".

Maybe there will be a story for the student council members and the relationship of Seo and Taesung will have "influence" on them? Like an inspiration. Something that will start like "When I was in high-school, two of my male teachers were in a relationship with each other. That time, I didn't really care about same-sex relationship until I saw them. They were so happy together, it made me wonder if I can be like them. And now, it makes me happy to see they're still together."
