Is Hyesung to be blame in the first place tho? Think, if he did not ignore Byul and breakdown in front of him, that scene could actually traumatize or shock the child. A kid is still a kid, they can blame themselves because they still can't understand deep emotions and adult problems. I know it's not good to ignore your child, but at least Dojin is there to let Byul forget about that. But see, a child can forget that he got ignore but not that he made his mother cry.

I'm on ch. 60 of the novel and its like a chapter in the novel is equivalent to a chapter in the manhwa so y'all manhwa reader will reach ch. 60 here in manhwa and yet the misunderstanding is still unclear. I just, got tired of it all.

https://wuxiaworld.site/novel/father-i-dont-want-to-get-married-novel/ it's only 'til ch. 62 and it's updated last year(/TДT)/ sorry

istg there's no development with their misunderstanding. It's like the father keeps showing affection for example, making her eat more yet she's thinking things like "he's only doing this so when I marry off the crown prince I will have healthy body for a child" blah blah blah or when he encouraged her to stand up and be proud from coming to a Duke's household she's saying "he's threatening me so I won't cause any trouble" etc etc that it's so mentally draining.
I read this question when I was scrolling through my newsfeed, "are you really fine now or just distracted?" And it basically sums up everything Hyesung went through. Dojin, Byul etc, that he didn't got the time to think of his family and his "pain". Now that he got reminded of it again, the feelings that are kept resurfaced and got worse because his father twisted what happened with their family and tried to use him. So how could you all blame him? It's obvious that he's not mentally and emotionally okay.
